After observing Charlie for a few days, Luke fully believed that Charlie's

relationship with Taylor was simply an act to make him jealous. It worked because Charlie often visited his thoughts.

It seemed as though there was a deeper meaning to his words. Luke mused Who exactly is Taylor West? Wasn't he just a son of the city engineer? Why is he so confident?'

"That's enough, Taylor," Charlie said, grabbing his arm. "Don't waste your energy

or dirty your hands on Luke. He's not worth it."

"Taylor? Babe?" Charlie called again.

Taylor was still seething, but eventually, he let go of Luke. He turned to Charlie and wrapped his arm around her waist. He said "Charlie, tell Luke who you want to be with."

Luke glared at Charlie, but she only put her arms around Taylor, saying, "You, I want to be with you."

"Do you still have feelings for Luke?" Taylor asked Charlie.

"No, I only want you," Charlie replied.

"Who do you go home to every night?" Taylor asked.

"You, Babe, I go home to you," Charlie said.

"And you know why that is?" Taylor directed his question to Luke. Then, he smirked and asked Charlie, "Tell him, Babe. Tell him that we live together."

"No, that can't be," Luke muttered.

Charlie raised her chin and said to Luke, "Taylor and I live together. I moved in with him. He has secretly been pursuing me while we were still together. I rejected him then, but

now realize I should have been with him long ago."

Taylor suddenly smacked Charlie's ass, and it made her squeak. Taylor said, "Now, Babe, tell Luke to fuck off!"

Charlie composed herself. Then, she did something Luke had never seen her do. Charlie gave Luke the finger and said, "Fuck you, Luke! Stay away from me!"

"That's my girl," Taylor said, draping an arm around Charlie's shoulder as they started making their way down the bleachers.

Then, just as Luke was processing what was happening, Taylor turned and kissed Charlie right in front of him!
