Chapter 186 Program Leak
Cleo stared at Alexander, thinking he might be full of it.noveldrama
"Mr. Carter, are you serious? A biopharmaceutical company, from the lab to the factory, needs at least tens of billions of dollars," Cleo questioned.
Alexander smirked. "Do I look that broke to you?"
Feeling a bit miffed, Cleo ran to Allison to vent. When Allison heard Alexander wanted to drop a ton of cash on a pharmaceutical factory, she shut it down immediately.
"I don't want to use Alexander's money. Keep an eye on the expenses. I think my assets should cover it... right?" Allison said, a bit unsure.
Cleo grinned. "More than enough, Ms. Bennett. Don't sweat it."
Allison finally relaxed.
'Money really flies; I need to find a way to earn more.' she thought.
Out of the blue, Mia came up with a money-making idea.
"Allison, here's your cut of the profits!" Mia announced one morning, slapping a card
on Allison's desk like she was rolling in dough.
"Where did this come from?" Allison asked, confused.
Mia pointed to their classmates. "From them. Tutoring fees. I took a ten percent cut, and the rest is yours!"
Mia's face lit up with a big grin.
Allison was exasperated. She had no idea Mia had the nerve to collect money like that. "Mia..."
"Aren't I smart? I knew you'd be proud of me, Allison!" Mia interrupted, thrilled.
Allison sighed and dragged Mia to the front of the class. "Whoever gave her money, please come forward, register, and get it back. If you don't reclaim it, you won't get any more materials. Got it?"
"Got it, got it!"
Mia was almost in tears after Allison's scolding.
"Mia, some things can't be about money because we can't be responsible for their futures. If we're just helping, their success or failure is on them. But if we take money, it's a business deal, and we're responsible. Understand?" Allison explained.
After Allison's lecture, Mia finally calmed down, though she still looked a bit upset. Allison couldn't help but laugh.
At lunch, Allison bought Mia a steak.
Seeing Mia's sad face, Allison chuckled. "Eat up. I'll take care of you from now on."
Mia, feeling down because of her near mistake, was instantly cheered up by Allison's words. She dug into the steak with renewed energy.
Allison laughed, and they were back to their usual selves.
Yasmin, watching them, was fuming. She still didn't believe Allison could help their classmates improve their grades. She thought Allison was just trying to get attention. With midterms coming up, Yasmin was determined to outshine Allison and steal the spotlight.
"Allison, the midterms are coming up. I've finished all the practice questions you gave me!" Mia said proudly.
Allison nodded. "Good. I've got two sets of practice exams ready. They should cover about eighty percent of the actual test. Go home and work on them. You'll be fine."
Mia was thrilled and immediately shared the news in their class group chat. The students were ecstatic.
[Allison is awesome!]
[Yeah! When I make a million bucks, I'll definitely thank her big time!]

Even though it was a class group chat, Allison wasn't in it, so she missed all the buzz. After school, as Allison was heading out, she got a call from Cleo. "Allison, it looks like our program's been leaked!" Cleo said, sounding panicked.
Allison's face went white. She rushed back to her apartment, fired up her computer, and started digging into the program. She found it had been tampered with and a virus had been slipped into the previous path.
Fuming, Allison first got rid of the virus, then traced the path back. The fact that the trail was left suggested the culprit wanted her to follow it.
"Boss, Gaia is online. I know her style. It's definitely her!"
"She hacked our accounts. This time, we have to get our money back!"
On the other end of the network, someone was seething.
Allison didn't care if it was a trap. Anyone who messed with her program was going to pay.
Her fingers flew over the keyboard. On the other side, a team of over ten people tried
to corner her. Despite their efforts, they couldn't stop Allison's relentless advance.
"She's too fast! We can't block her!"
"Is she a demon? How can she be this quick? There are too many paths; we can't stop her!"
"Stop whining and fight back. We need to retrieve the complete program to cut our losses!" a man shouted in frustration.
But they couldn't stop Allison. Not only did she break through, but she also planted a virus that crashed their entire server. When the bluebird icon appeared, the whole system went down, and all connected computers self-destructed.
"The computers crashed!"
"Oh my god, this woman is terrifying. She can even make the systems go down!"
"Our data is gone. The entire database has been wiped out!"
In the end, chaos reigned on the other side.
Allison transferred all their funds to a charity foundation and erased all traces, keeping some evidence which she handed over to Cleo.
"You have an hour to find the mole. Anyone who messes with my program won't get away with it!" Allison declared, seething.
Cleo was even angrier. Tracing the leaked program's path, Cleo found the IP address, which led to the Shaw family's hotel.
Cleo, not daring to tell Allison, called Alexander. "Mr. Carter, I need your help. If Allison finds out, she might start a fight."
Alexander had been watching Allison's entire hacking process and was immensely proud of her skills.
"The hotel's server is only used by Allison's friend. If it was leaked from his end, you won't be able to hide it from Allison," Alexander analyzed calmly.
Cleo was frustrated. The IP address wasn't directly Felix's, but it was linked to him.
"That idiot Felix must have been tricked by some woman again. I'm going to teach him a lesson!" Cleo fumed.
She hung up and rushed to the hotel. In the presidential suite, only Sabrina was there. "Where's that idiot Felix?" Cleo demanded, searching the room but finding no one.
Sabrina's face was pale, and her eyes were swollen from crying.
"Sabrina, what happened? Did Felix bully you?" Cleo asked.
Sabrina quickly wiped her tears. "Cleo, I want to go home. I don't want to be with him anymore."
What do you think?
