The CEO’s little ones

Chapter 26

Chapter 26:.

“[Groom-to-be, Kingsley, and bride-to-be, Michelle, sincerely invite their good friend, Hayden, to come to the engagement banquet…].”

Striking was a line of typed words that appeared to be handwritten. The inside page was embedded with a caricatured image of the two people. Hayden squeezed the corners of the invitation card and his eyes darkened slightly.

After careful thought, it seemed that this affair was to be expected. When she met Michelle in the elevator last time, she saw that Michelle was already wearing the ring that meant so much to her in the past.

What was unexpected, however, was that they surprisingly dared to send her an invitation. Hayden leaned back on the couch as her lips curved into a self-deprecating smile. As she thought back to the incident five years ago, her emotions hit her like a bullet through her chest.

If it hadn’t been for Kingsley and Michelle, she wouldn’t be in this situation today.

People said that if a woman had never loved a jerk in her life, her experience in love was not considered complete. Just as it was said that the life of someone who did not know a close friend who betrayed them was not considered complete, Hayden felt that her life was, indeed, extremely complete.

He then simply tossed the invitation under the coffee table without bothering further. When one accidentally stepped in dog poop, was there a need to smell it to see if it stank?

The next day was a day off. Hayden had intended to think about planning the anniversary project, but was awakened early by the doorbell.

As soon as he opened the door, he saw a handsome man and a pretty woman, the man seemed calm while the woman seemed friendly. Both were dressed neatly and formally with a briefcase in hand.

“Sorry, my family doesn’t need insurance.” Hayden turned them straight away and prepared to close the door.

The woman hurried to speak. “Miss Downey? We are the deputy administrators of the Castillo Azul Bilingual Kindergarten.”

Hayden’s eyes widened in astonishment.

The woman smiled and held out her hand. “My name is Rita Dewey and this is Marvin Alfred. The reason we’re here is to conduct a routine home visit before Stella enters daycare. It’s mainly to find out about the child’s daily habits, living habits, medical history, and so on.”

Five minutes later. Hayden came out of the bathroom after washing up. She looked embarrassedly at the man and woman sitting at the small table.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t know Kindergarten did pre-admission home visits.”

Rita was still displaying a soft, kind look. “It’s all stated in the admission letter, hasn’t Miss Downey read it yet?”

Hayden looked awkwardly at the folders scattered on the table. “To be frank, I’ve only read half of it, and I really have no intention of sending my daughter to your school.”noveldrama

“No intention?” Rita revealed a disbelieving look and asked, “Is there something about our school that makes Miss Downey unhappy?”

“No…”

Hayden had never visited Castillo Azul Bilingual Kindergarten before. “I just feel that Stella may not really be suited for an environment like Castillo Azul Bilingual Kindergarten. You guys should be able to understand the specific reason.”

She simply pointed to the house.

The size of Hayden’s house was 397 m2 and consisted of two bedrooms and a living room. Although it was considered quite spacious, compared to the homes of children from families who could afford to study at Castillo Azul Bilingual Kindergarten, it was perhaps even smaller than the rooms in their homes.

“If this is what Miss Downey is worried about, she has nothing to worry about.”

Rita pushed her glasses up on her nose. Apparently relieved, she smiled and said. “I think you know that school fees are totally free. Stella won’t have a penny of extra fees after she enters our school, Mr. Beckham has already made that clear.”

“I really don’t need to…”.

The fact that Joseph was giving her such a large gift in return was the reason she resolutely refused to accept it.

“Miss Downey, I don’t think any other school would be more attractive to you than ours.” Spoke suddenly in a deep voice the man standing next to Rita.

He firmly opened the black folder in his hand.

“The Blue Castle Children’s Hospital, within our Kindergarten, is in collaboration with the Pharmaceutical Corporation of City P. Their top pediatrician in the field of traditional medicine, Dr. Tamara Wilson, works at our school. Perhaps you can look her up on the Internet.”

When he heard the words P-Town Pharmaceutical Corporation, Hayden’s eyelids twitched. And when he heard Tamara Wilson’s name, his expression changed, “What does it say?”

“We’ve learned something from Stella’s medical history. I believe that so far there is no way to completely cure congenital asthma. Also, we can’t guarantee that we can cure her, but Dr. Wilson is an expert in this field. If Stella enrolls, she will be able to safeguard herself from her health problem.”

Marvin’s voice echoed in the room. Hayden’s eyes lit up as if he had successfully found a life preserver.

The reason he decided to bring Stella here to treat her asthma last time was because Western doctors abroad could not fully cure her. Also, it was getting out of control and he thought he might try traditional medicine.

Tamara, from the P-town Pharmaceutical Corporation, was the most famous pediatrician in the field of asthma treatment. Hayden went around asking for information about her and discovered that she had already returned to N City to retire. This was the reason Hayden also came to N City.

However, she did not expect that after all her hard searching, Tamara would be hired to work at the bilingual Castillo Azul Kindergarten. Her mind reeled slightly.

“Miss Downey, how about this, if you are concerned, you can let Stella enroll first to experience school life there for a period of time. And if she is not satisfied, you can let her leave the school and we will recommend any other kindergartens you wish, how about that?”

Rita’s face looked so sincere that someone would find it hard to say no.

Hayden thought that, although the two people in front of him were not insurance agents, his eloquence was really as good as those agents. “Well, okay, I’ll give it a try then.”

Hayden felt that he would definitely not suffer any loss, since even if Tamara failed to cure Stella, he could simply let Stella drop out of school. Also, this Kindergarten could recommend her to another.

Once this matter was agreed upon, they asked her some simple details. After Rita and Marvin said goodbye, they left the residential area and got into the car. As the car pulled out of the residential area gate, the caller’s voice rang in the car.

“Mr. Beckham, the matter ordered by you is done.”

“…”.

“Yes, we did it after we finished the procedure of hiring Dr. Wilson to come to work.”

“…”

“We will take good care of Stella, don’t worry, Mr. Beckham.”

After hanging up the phone, the ST Group CEO’s office went quiet again.

Joseph looked at the list of medical records in front of him. When he thought of Stella’s cute, vivacious face, he really couldn’t associate her with a disease like asthma.

If he hadn’t sensed in her words last night Hayden’s reluctance to send Stella to the bilingual Blue Castle Kindergarten, he wouldn’t have intended to investigate what was the reason she was so eager to find a Kindergarten.

He originally thought it was because she had high requirements, but unexpectedly, it was actually because of Stella’s health problem. As he pondered all this, the knock on the door sounded.

“Come in.”

Violet opened the door and walked in with two cups of coffee in her hands, “Joseph, I bought an American coffee, your favorite.”

“Why are you coming now?” Joseph looked at her weakly.

“Aren’t we going to tell Harrison about the wedding tonight? I’m a little nervous.” Violet pursed her lips, looking slightly shy.

“Don’t you always go to visit him?” Joseph directly embarrassed her by criticizing her.

Embarrassed, Violet merely bit the dust and whined coquettishly. “Blah, that’s because I help you by becoming your actress for the show. But the fake show is now becoming real, so I feel worried. Joseph, do you think my outfit today is appropriate, will Harrison like it?”.

Joseph didn’t even look at him, “Whatever you want.”

“Joseph.”

Violet leaned in a little annoyed. Just as she was about to give vent to her frustration, she noticed a printout of a list of medical records and clearly saw the name on it – Stella Downey.
