Chapter 691 Whom Did Mr. Olteran's Child Inherit From
Patrick replied to Vera, "Yeah, it's dark out, but the parking garage lights are on." Though Patrick rarely joked, his eyes were full of affection as he looked at Vera and their chubby little Teddy.
Vera, whom Patrick affectionately referred to as "some folks," stuck out her tongue playfully.
Patrick walked over to the window, glanced at the newlywed couple in the parking lot, then scooped up the now-tired Teddy. He took Vera's hand and led them back to the living room. "Teddy's love for excitement, he definitely got that from you," Patrick said, wrapping an arm around Vera's shoulders with a loving smile.
If Teddy wasn't feeling under the weather, he would have been up and about, joining in the fun.
When Patrick took Teddy for a check-up, the doctor mentioned that their little one was quite a lively child.
"Who says? He clearly got it from Molly and Randall too," Vera said, sharing the blame. Shawn, standing nearby, nodded enthusiastically. "Absolutely, Vera's spot on."
Just then, Molly dashed back into the living room. Seeing Shawn's amused expression, she asked, "Dad, what did Vera say that you agree with so much?"
Shawn repeated, "Vera was just secretly watching you and Sebastian having fun."
Molly immediately turned to Vera, accusing, "You're so disloyal!"
Vera shot back, "Oh, please. How many times have you watched Patrick and me having fun?"
Shawn, ever the peacemaker, chimed in, "Calm down, everyone. We're one big happy family, no need to argue."
Then, Shawn added cheerfully, "Patrick was just saying that Teddy's love for gossip comes from Vera, but Vera disagreed, saying Teddy actually got it from you and Randall. I think Vera's right. It's you, Molly, Vera, and Randall's bad genes that have influenced my precious Teddy."
Molly looked at Shawn, asking, "Dad, whose bad genes did Randall and I inherit?" "Who knows?" Shawn replied quickly, laughing. But as he laughed, he noticed the room had gone silent and everyone was staring at him.
Vera gave Molly a thumbs up, "Molly, you're strong."
Shawn's smile faded, and he pointed his cane at Molly, "Molly, are you implying you got it from me?"
"I didn't name names. You said it yourself. Why don't you say it's from Mom?" Molly retorted.
Shawn prepared to chase after Molly, "You clearly meant me."
Molly regretted it instantly. If only Sebastian had been here, he could have stopped Shawn from hitting her.
Molly pointed at Shawn's cane, threatening, "Dad, if you hit me, I won't take care of you in your old age."
Shawn scoffed, "I have six kids. Missing one won't starve or freeze me."
The other kids watched the scene unfold, with Teddy nestled in Patrick's arms, observing the family's "warmth."
Molly pointed around the room, "Too bad, your son-in-law is my husband, your daughter-in-law is my friend, your sons don't take charge, and Cindy spoils me the most. You have no choice but to rely on your dear daughter."
Shawn glared, "I still have grandkids!"
"Really? Are you talking about Randall, who you've been hitting for over twenty years, or Teddy, who's still a baby and only knows how to cry?" Molly's sharp tongue struck again.
Shawn thought about it. Randall often got hit, and Teddy? Shawn glanced at the adorable Teddy in Patrick's arms. It was enough not to expect Teddy to take care of him.
"Housekeeper, call Sebastian and tell him to come back and pick me up!" Shawn, unable to win the argument, resorted to calling for backup.
As soon as he said it, Molly clung to him, "Dad, Daddy, dear father, please don't. I'm your beloved daughter, don't call Sebastian."

Shawn's focus shifted, "Molly, why 'beloved'?"
Molly blinked, "Beloved, as in the heart of a flower."
Shawn was speechless.
Cindy stifled her laughter, turning away to laugh silently.
Vera slipped over to Patrick and whispered, "Patrick, they say daughters take after their
aunts. Maybe we shouldn't have a daughter?"
Patrick, holding Teddy, looked at Vera, "Let's focus on raising this one first."
Teddy let out a happy squeal.
In the family group chat, Shawn summoned Randall with love, "Randall, when are you getting off work? Grandpa's making dinner for you."
Randall glanced at his phone, "No good deed goes unpunished."
Susan nodded in agreement, "Grandpa just called you a dog."
Randall asked, "What kind of dog?"
Susan replied innocently, "An overworked dog."
Randall immediately put down his work and grabbed Susan, "Let's go to the food street."
Soon, the WhatsApp group was filled with photos of Randall holding Susan's hand, standing in line at food stalls, and videos of Randall feeding Susan snacks.

"Susan, open wide," Randall said, holding a skewer to her mouth.
Susan obediently opened her mouth, taking a big bite, her cheeks puffing out.
Randall then took a bite from the same skewer, not minding the shared food.
Their behavior made others mistake them for a couple.
But that wasn't all. Various food photos were shared in the group.
Shawn looked at them, swallowing hard.noveldrama
Molly floated by, "Dad, are you craving food? Didn't you say Randall was the most filial
and you were going to cook for him?"
Shawn put down his phone in frustration, "I'm going to bed!"
As soon as Shawn left, Molly messaged Randall on WhatsApp, "Randall, bring me four lamb skewers and some fried chicken."
Randall replied, "Get lost."
In Vera's bedroom, Cindy joined her in the bathroom to wash Teddy.
"Back in the day, it was always you and Dad arguing. Now that you're a mom, you've calmed down a lot. Molly's taken over the arguing," Cindy said, washing Teddy's legs with a smile.
Vera yawned, "Cindy, all my energy and brainpower are consumed by Teddy." She looked down at the chubby Teddy, poking his lower lip, "It's you, making Mommy less cute. Should Mommy give you a little spanking to cheer herself up?" Teddy adorably stuck out his little tongue, ready to put his hand in his mouth to chew.
