Severe depression? Charles was visibly stunned by those words. It's not that he didn't believe in depression. He just remembered Evelyn from two years ago. "Charles, stop pushing Eve. Let her have a chance at life, she's suffered enough." Adam pleaded with Charles out of genuine concern for Eve. He held onto a sliver of hope that once Charles knew what Eve had endured because of him and Dahlia, he might finally let her go.

But he didn't expect that apart from a slight change in Charles's expression, he showed no intention of handing Evelyn over. Instead, Charles discreetly signaled to security who had followed them out and stood waiting by the door. The security officer immediately stepped forward, catching Adam off guard and restraining him. Charles, meanwhile, bent down to get into the car. The door closed in front of Adam's shocked gaze, and the car swiftly drove away.

Realizing what had happened, Adam was furious, Charles, are you even human?" ?"But Charles's car had
