The Forgotten Titan's Resurgence

Chapter 29

"I won't take the 2.5 million dollars you're offering me, either. Let's put all five million dollars as an investment in your name. Would that be alright with you, Mr. and Mrs. Seymour?"

"We couldn't possibly do that, Matthew," Marion said. "It' be at your expense."

Matthew replied, "Ella and I are such good friends. This means nothing to me. It's not like I need the money, either. I'd feel bad about taking 2.5 million dollars from you guys. Let's just invest everything to save you the trouble of having to put the money in the bank."

Arnold was a little hesitant. After all, five million dollars was a massive sum of money. He was a bit worried about handing everything over just like that.

"What's there for you to think about?" Marion questioned. Matthew is clearly doing us a favor. We should be overjoyed. There's no reason for you to hesitate."

While speaking, she passed the box of cash to Matthew.

"Here. Take it all. We'll invest all five million dollars. I wish you all the best with your company. May it flourish and become renowned all over Goldspire."

Matthew was jumping for joy. He'd scored another five million dollars! What a great day it was. Marion and Elara were mother and daughter, alright. They were both equally dumb.

"I'll get going, then. Opening a company is keeping me quite busy."

"Yes, go on. Your work is more important."

After escorting Matthew out, Marion said gleefully, "This, combined with the five million dollars we invested previously, totals up to ten million dollars! That means we'll have a sizable portion of the shares. Once Matthew's company is established, we'll be raking in the profits without doing anything!"

Elara was eagerly looking forward to it as well. All along, she wanted to move up the ranks of society. She only had two options-either she had to marry an elite family, or her own family had to flourish.

It was unlikely that she would be divorcing Gideon any time soon, so her only option now was to hope that the Seymours could somehow achieve even more success. Thankfully, Matthew gave them the opportunity to do so.

"This is great!"

Elara was in a swimmingly good mood. She felt extremely grateful to Matthew.

Alas, they didn't know that they would never be seeing a dime of that ten million dollars ever again.

Meanwhile, Gideon went back to the Snow residence. What he needed to do now was prepare a plan for the company's growth and let the family members execute it.noveldrama

His main purpose was to train them up. Once the time was right, he would give them the right boost to ensure that Snow Corporation soared up the ranks once more. No one would be able to stop them. They would rank at the top of Goldspire once more.

The next morning, Gideon stretched in his seat. He'd stayed up overnight to carve out a detailed development plan for the company.

He got ready to pay a visit to the company, bringing the plan along to let the employees put it into action.

At the same time, over at Tom's place, a man in black with the mask of a grim reaper stood before Tom.

"You're finally here, my friend!"

The masked man was known as Reaper. Ranked ninth on the Shadow Ranking of the Hitman Guild, he was a formidable hitman who had never failed to take down a target.

A year ago, Reaper had gotten injured during an assignment and fell unconscious on the road. Tom came across him and saved him. Thus, the two formed a friendship.

"What's going on?"

"I'm so sorry for making you rush all the way here. I must be keeping you from your work," Tom said.

"You don't need to be so formal with me. Tell me who you want to take out. I'll do it right away."

"His name is Gideon Snow!"

Passing a document to Reaper, Tom continued, "Here are all the details about him. He's nothing more than the head of a destitute family. His death won't make any waves, so you don't have to worry about it."

Reaper was a little speechless. “I can't believe it. You were so adamant that I needed to come over right away. Here I was thinking you'd encountered some kind of major problem. Who would've thought it's merely the head of a broke family? I don't even feel like going after him."

Chuckling, Tom said, "Hurry up and help me get rid of him. I look forward to hearing the good news from you"
