The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage

Chapter 2608

Thalos stammered, "W-Who are you?"

"We told you." Zark snorted coolly. "He's the famous chief of Mystic Sky Guild!"

Thalos sighed in relief—in a way, he wished that was true, as his defeat would make sense if that was the case.

No one would mock an ant for losing against an anteater... though it went without saying how helpless Thalos felt, comparing himself to an ant.

"Apologies, and farewell!"

And once Thalos understood that he was no match for Frank, he stopped attacking altogether and struggled to his feet.

He was going to bring his son along and bail, when Creed moved to stand in his way.

"Out of my way, Creed! Don't push it!"

Thalos was well aware what Creed was up to and tried to push him away and flee.

He just did not expect Creed to stand firm like a mountain, and with himself hurt, he was never going to win.

On top of that, Creed was smiling. "Never make a bet if you're not going to honor it, Mr. Cumur. Be a man, and kowtow to him!

"You're really pushing it!"

It went without saying that Thalos was seething, though it was only now that he understood why Creed had the audacity to suggest this bet.

After all, while Thalos and his son were unconscious, he had definitely seen Frank in action!

Damn it all! He would kill Creed where he stood if not for his injury!

That was when Creed said, "Naturally, I'm not one who drives a friend off the brink. But you and your son had been mocking the man relentlessly-at least apologize to him!"

While Creed appeared to be compromising, he was not actually allowing Thalos a chance to argue even using him as a stepping stone. After all, whether Thalos was going to apologize or not, Creed was actually doing Frank a favor so he could leverage an alliance with Mystic Sky Guild.

As for the Cumurs, apologizing was basically admitting that they had been provoking Frank, but not apologizing would only burn bridges. Damned if they do, damned they don't!

"Just you wait!" Thalos snapped at Creed and left without apologizing.noveldrama

After all, he had heard that the chief of Mystic Sky Guild was not at all petty.

Nonetheless, Creed was laughing. "You're not fooling everyone,

Cumur. Don't flatter yourselet

not afraid of you!"

Thalos said nothing to that.

When he and Haran left, the guests all flocked around Frank.

"Your reputation precedes you, sir! Would you allow us to hold a feast in your honor and bring cheer?"

After all, Frank was never seen much in public, and they were keen to seize this rare encounter and fawn all over him.

However, Frank never liked socializing, and the way the guests stubbornly refused to lose especially disgusted him.

Shaking his head, he said, "Apologies, but I have other things to do. Later!"

Naturally, none of them dared to stop him and allowed Frank to leave.

Zark hurried after him, apologizing. "Sorry, chief!"

"Pray tell, what's your crime?" Frank asked, puzzled why he was so eager to apologize.

"We agreed that you wouldn't have to reveal yourself. I just couldn't rein in the guests, so please forgive me!"

"It isn't really your fault. It's theirs!"

Frank laughed, gesturing at the Ghostly Six with his chin.
