The Great Medical Saint

Chapter 473

Renae fixed her gaze on Matthew. "You take it from here."

Matthew nodded. He approached the desk and looked at Sebastian. "Since you're a doctor, have you heard about Eight Medical Sects?"

With a raised eyebrow, Sebastian sprang to his feet. "Never heard of it. If you're not here for a consultation, then just leave. My time is limited, and I need to earn a living. I don't have time to mess around with you all."

Upon finishing speaking, Sebastian started making his way out of his clinic.

Why did Sebastian need to leave the clinic to earn money? Wasn't he a doctor? Why not just stay at the clinic to make some cash?

Matthew was filled with questions, but it was their first meeting, so he held back from asking them. Knowing Sebastian was about to leave, Matthew hurriedly stopped him.

"Hold on. If your time is so valuable, I'll pay for it."

Was Matthew seriously going to give him money? Sebastian stopped in his tracks. With a cigarette in his mouth, Sebastian frowned and asked, "Cash is king. My time isn't cheap. How much are you paying?" How much should it be? Matthew frowned and pondered about it. His goal that day was to find Integrative Medicine, Thermodra Sect's legacy medical literature, and Infinity Pill Formula.

Integrative Medicine was a priceless and invaluable piece of medical literature. Meanwhile, Infinity Pill Formula was truly a timeless treasure.

Legends said that it was a formula for strengthening vitality and kidney health. It wasn't written on paper or a parchment scroll, nor was it chiseled into stone or metal. Instead, it was carved on a small gold box.

The gold box alone was worth a fortune, and it came with a precious formula to boot.

After mulling it over, Matthew looked straight at Sebastian and stated, "How much do you want? Just name your price."

Since it was a priceless treasure, Matthew was hesitant to quote a price. Sebastian took a deep drag of his cigarette, and the remaining stub burned down to the very end in an instant.

Yet, he still kept the cigarette in his mouth as he gave Matthew a once-over. Everything Matthew wore was super ordinary, and none of it was branded. It was easy to tell that he wasn't rich.

Seriously, he dared to throw out any price like that. Who did he think he was?

With a look of disdain, Sebastian asked for a ridiculous price. "I'm not asking for a lot. It'll be 100 thousand dollars. Did that freak you out?"

Matthew pulled out his phone. "Sure. I'll wire you 100 thousand dollars right now." As he spoke, he opened up the banking app to prepare for the transfer.

Was he actually planning to pay 100 thousand dollars? Sebastian gaped at Matthew in surprise.

The cigarette butt dropped from Sebastian's mouth to the floor, and the glowing tip burst into sparks all over the place. Some of them even landed on his foot.

He wore a pair of sandals with no socks on, and the sparks hit the top of his foot perfectly.

Sebastian yelped from the burning pain and danced on his feet, screaming, "Fuck! That's hot as hell!"noveldrama

He crouched to check his foot and

realized it wasn't serious at all. There was just a red spot on his skin. He was just startled by the sudden pain. By the time he stood up again, he had already recollected himself.

Sebastian scrutinized Matthew once more and noticed the latter had a serious look. His expression turned wary. After all, 100 thousand dollars wasn't a small amount.

He was currently in Lambda City's outskirts, which was eight miles away from the city. If he opted for

cheap apartments, he could get himself a small apartment of around 430 square feet.

However, with 100 thousand dollars on the table, the task had to be pretty serious.

Sebastian wanted the money, but he valued his life even more. He shook his head and replied, "That's too much."

Sporting an earnest look, Matthew remarked, "I actually think that's not a lot. In fact, the amount seems a bit low. Do you have time to talk now?"

How was 100 thousand dollars too little? Sebastian twitched his mouth as he utterly looked bewildered. Who were these people?

Now, Sebastian felt even more worried, and he had an inexplicable sense of fear toward Matthew. "Since you've got the money, why not look for someone else? I might not have money, but I'm not desperate enough to kill myself for it. Just go."

With that, Sebastian walked to the door and gestured for Matthew and Renae to leave.

Matthew shook his head. "Don't get the wrong idea. I'm not trying to put you in danger. I'm with the medical sects, and you're the successor of Thermodra Sect. I'm here to recover two of its legacy items." Sebastian was taken aback and waved his hand dismissively. "I don't know what's this Thermodra Sect you're talking about, let alone the medical sects. I don't have what you want here. Please go."

Matthew's demeanor changed slightly. "Can we sit down and talk about this? If you have questions, feel

free to ask. There might be a misunderstanding between us."

Sebastian's face showed irritation. "There's no misunderstanding. I don't even know what you're referring

to at all. If you're sticking around, then I'll leave."

With that, Sebastian exited the clinic, leaviing Matthew and Renae behind.
