Chapter 1322
---- 201. IN SEARCH OF A WITCH VICTORIA I had no idea how long I stayed there with my head down. Thinking over and over again about what had just happened. I've always been a spontaneous woman, even spoiled, I admit, thanks to my parents' easygoing way of raising me. I was used to taking whatever I wanted without thinking of the consequences. But this was the first time a man had rejected me.
He even accused me of using vampire seduction spells-those some of our kind used to enchant their victims. I didn't use any compulsion on him. I know he wanted me just as desperately as I wanted him. Why? Why am I so drawn to that rude, unpleasant man who treated me like I was nothing? "Could he be my mate?" I murmured, staring at the carpet, still clutching the dress to my ---- chest. I love the way he smells. His blood calls to me. My heart races just thinking about him. But I'm not sure...
Is that how the mate bond feels? "Besides, wolves are super possessive. If I were his mate, he would've known it right away..." My mind wandered, that lump in my throat still stuck, "What if he's hiding it? What if he's resisting it... because I'm a vampire?" I sighed, bringing my hand to my face Touching the tears I began wiping away with too much force. His words kept looping in my head, hurting more each time "Well, if you are my mate, it's obvious you rejected me.noveldrama
Your loss." I jumped off the table and started tying up the straps of my dress. I'm a tough girl, a full-blooded vampire, and no grumpy wolf was going to ruin my self-esteem. I shoved all those confused feelings aside and focused on what ---- really mattered: getting the hell out of here. I walked carefully toward the exit, sniffing the air. But something felt off-there were no guards watching the area. In fact, the whole place looked deserted. Did he really think I wouldn't try to escape?
Scoffing in anger, I stepped out, ready to run into the woods, when a commotion erupted nearby. The pounding of hooves and shouted orders-the whole camp was mobilizing for some reason. "Wipe out that rebel group!" I heard the command--it sounded like the Beta's voice. I melted into the shadows as the riders stormed past the tent. Looking toward the back, I searched for an escape route. They had to be coming to execute me soon. No way they'd just leave me alive and unbound. But the riders charged forward, brutal and fast, kicking up dirt beneath their horses' hooves.
