The Night I Let Go

Chapter 100

"Mr. Pearce, are you reminding me or threatening me?"

Zachary's expression gradually turned cold when he saw Cameron's unfriendly demeanor.

Cameron smirked dismissively. "If you're smart, you can take it as a reminder! If you're stubborn and think you can punch above your weight, consider it a threat!"

"Oh? Is that so?" Zachary couldn't help but smile at that.

Cameron frowned slightly. "What are you laughing at?"

Zachary shrugged and replied, "Mr. Pearce, how insecure must you be to come here to threaten a deputy manager of the marketing department?"

Cameron was speechless. His face darkened, but he found himself unable to retort.

"There's nothing wrong with liking someone, but if you do it in such a despicable way, I can only say a person like you doesn't deserve to be loved!"

With a light sigh, Zachary ignored Cameron's furious expression and turned to walk toward the company.

...

At 11:00 am, Zachary was busy working when Anya suddenly approached him.

"Put your work aside for now, and come with me."

Her appearance surprised everyone in the marketing department.

After all, she rarely visited the marketing department personally. She usually sent Sarah, if needed.

This was the first time this year she had come in person.

"What's going on?" He looked puzzled.

Anya shot him a glance. "What else?

It's about the Economic

Development Zone project. Did you

think I was looking for you for

personal matters?"

"No, I was just curious." He smiled, locked his computer, and followed her out of the office.

The two walked side by side toward the elevator, which drew astonished looks from the marketing department employees.

"What's happening? Mr. Lloyd and Ms. Wayne seem to have a special relationship."

"Isn't that just because he's a relative? He might be some distant cousin!"

"Do you think Mr. Lloyd may be Ms. Wayne's boyfriend?"

"It's unlikely, right? She hasn't been in a relationship for years. Isn't it rumored that she prefers women?"

"That might not be true. Maybe she

just hasn't met the right person!

think he's quite handsome and very

refined. He seems like a nice guy!"

"Did you all see that photo from the

group chat? The one where Ms.

Wayne first brought Mr. Lloyd to the

company, and the receptionist

snapped a picture? She looked

delighted in that photo!"

"Now that you mention it, I'm starting to doubt the nature of their relationship..."

The marketing department buzzed with gossip about Zachary and Anya's relationship.

Shawn's expression changed when he heard this.

"It can't be. If Zachary is Ms. Wayne's boyfriend, why didn't she take issue with Ms. Lane after he confronted him yesterday?" he thought.

The more he considered it, the more convinced he became that Zachary and Anya were not as close as the colleagues suggested.

It would make sense if they were just distant cousins.noveldrama

After all, any intelligent person would understand that the company's interests were far more critical than that of a distant relative.
