Deaths paid
Jhonia arrived home after work!
“I have been worried sick!” Her uncle said, slapping her across the face. She held her face looking back at her uncle from the corner of her eyes, not a single tear within them.
“Where have you been, Jhonia?” He asked, reaching out for her face as if he was sorry. Jhonia stepped back from him.
“Jhonia I’m”
“Dave overheard you talking about selling me off into marriage to pay off my parents’ deaths. He wanted me to run away. Now that I have returned the sooner the better. Shall we get this over with?” Jhonia explained to him that her cousin wanted to run away after he heard the truth, but she returned and then she asked. She walked away from him, passing his wife and went to the room under the staircase which was given to her. She picked out her clothes and went out to go upstairs for a shower. She stopped halfway up the stairs.
“This money you’re selling me for is to pay off my parents’ deaths, make sure they’re here when the money is being given,” Jhonia said, telling him to make sure the thugs are there to receive the money and continue to walk up the stairs.
“What is she up to?” Dana asked, walking over to Bryane.
“I don’t know, and I don’t care, five million dollars for her is too much but we need the money. Let’s get it over with.” Bryane responded to her and said glancing up the staircase Jhonia went.
“What about our son? He left to protect her but she returned and he didn’t.” Dana asked and then said to him with one arm cross and the other holding her chin.
“Don’t worry. Home is always home, that boy will return whether he likes it or not.” Bryane said explain to her he will be back. He then picked his phone and called the group of men that was there before.
“Hello, come here quickly, it’s time to collect the money,” Bryane said, and ended the call! He then calms himself down and dials another number.
“Hello, Mr. Lindow.” A lady’s voice came in on the phone.
“Mrs. Pinnock. I called you to inform you that you can be in an hour, I have told her about the marriage contract, she has agreed to it.” Bryane addressed the person, and said, explaining himself while hoping that she hadn’t changed her mind.
“Of course, she would. This is her parents death that she’s paying off! I will see you in half an hour, I was already nearby, luckily you called.” Mrs. Pinnock said, explaining that she would agree to clear her parents name, with a small giggle. She gave to let Bryane know he almost lost the contract marriage.
“Haha! Mrs. Pinnock, I must say I’m very lucky then. See you.” Bryane laughed sarcastically and said, he then ended the call as he looked at his wife with approval. She smiles with excitement.
“We are rich,” Dana said, happily hugging her husband.
“Shh. Let’s celebrate after she’s sold! I will pay for her parents’ death to me, and then we are free.” Bryane says for her to be quiet before he says with a smirk then says to her..
“Of course, you will. I mean you should pay it off! Also, no one will owe anyone anymore, and I will be free from their deaths and of course. I have a question. But I will ask later.” Jhonia said and surprised them, then she said to them. Before she turned her attention to Bryane as she came down the stairs in a dress.
“Stunning.” The man from the group of men, who tried to touch Jhonia said, as he entered their house.
“Very beautiful and elegant too, but what a shame.” He said, with a smirk. Jhonia narrowed her eyes at him, as she wondered why he said that?
“However, that is none of your concerns now. Is it?” Jhonia said and asked him, as she walked down the stairs. She went to her staircase room and retrieved the paperwork.
She stands with it behind her, as they all waited for Mrs. Pinnock to arrive. After some time someone knocked on the door. Jhonia walked over to the door and opened it. But standing before her is a well-dressed woman, her jewelry shines without the sunlight.
“Please, come in.” Jhonia said, stepping back for her to enter. A man enters with her after closing the door Jhonia extended her hand to the man.
“Hello and welcome, my name is Jhonia. But I suppose you already know that?” Jhonia said welcoming her in and introducing herself then asking with a smile.
“Hehe! This is my driver Jhonia, not your husband. He. Your husband is busy in his company. You will meet him later, are you excited?” Mrs. Pinnock giggled and said, with a pleasant smile, explaining before she asks. The man nodded at Jhonia as she looked up at him from Mrs. Pinnock.
“I see. My apologies for mistaking you.” Jhonia said, retrieving her hand. She then extended her arm showing them to the hall in which her uncle, his wife, and the so-called money collector are seated and waiting.
“You are very beautiful, Jhonia. This dress or anything like it will be left behind. You’re entering wealth and lifestyle. These clothes are not fit. Understand?” Mrs. Pinnock said to jhonia, telling her she will not wear such things anymore and ass?
. Just when I thought she and I would at least get along, Jhonia thought.
“Understood.” Jhonia said, with a smile. After everyone is seated.
“There’s no need to beat around the bush. I will get right to it.” Mrs. Pinnock said, looking at Bryane.
“She is right! And so I would like to ask. If you’re paying in cash or cheque?” Jhonia asks? Agreeing with Mrs. Pinnock then asked?
“Cash is here as well as cheque, Ms. Smith. Why do you inquire about the status of the money coming?” Mrs. Pinnock said with a smile but she was curious so she asked her? Jhonia smiled.
“We are not children, Mrs. Pinnock but adults. I’m also sure you know why I’m agreeing to this contract marriage? Which I would be sold into with or without my knowledge.” Jhonia said to her explaining, heruncle was surprised and taken back.
“Jhonia, what has gotten into you?” Bryane asks, raising his voice.
“Mr. Lindow, allow the girl to speak. Yes, Jhonia I’m aware. Please continue!” Mrs. Pinnock said and asked Jhonia to proceed.
“This, here in my hand, is a paid form. My parents were murdered… The cops ended their investigation and closed the case, my cousin took me from work! We went on the run… But I return because of course, my parents’ debts are now my own. We will all sign it, whether or not your money is cheque or cash.” Jhonia began to speak, explaining everything in short and made herself clear when she said to them.
She put down the contract paid for everyone to see. Mrs. Pinnock smiles at the fact that she was this smart and her uncle Bryane didn’t even know of it. Bryane reached out for the contract looking at Jhonia like she was a completely different person to him at that moment.
“I agree with her terms, it seems it’s her only one, and from running away to running back home for the contract marriage. Everyone will sign, including your wife.” Mrs. Pinnock sees it as a golden ticket to win over Jhonia from there, so she agrees and says.
“I don’t understand. Why do I have to sign it?” Bryane asks as he realizes that this five million is the only thing and the last he will receive off Jhonia. He looked up at her seated across from him.
. When did she get this smart? This was supposed to be a once in a lifetime deal when they keep coming to claim the money her parents owe she would pay it. But this is too much, Jhonia you will regret this. My so-called sister raised you well! But just you wait, Bryane thinks.
“You most, of course, you’re my guardian. Are you not? Also, with what the contract withholds… If there should be anyone who claims to be the person my parents owe after this, the money and the small business the money was a loan from will be investigated and those involved will face charges. This is my only request for this contract marriage.” Jhonia said to him and asked before she explained what will happen if someone should come again saying her parents owe them, they will face charges . Her uncle was surprised! The fact that he could go to jail for fraud for his schemes, scares him.NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.
“Okay. We will sign it, and as you most.” Bryane said, thinking she would back down.
“Oh, I have already signed it.” Jhonia said, with a smile. He knew he couldn’t back or try anything henceforth.
