The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection

Chapter 1056

Hearing Andre's words, Felix asked, "And what if I had a way? One that guaranteed the royal family couldn't find me."

Andre smiled. "If you really do, Shepherd and I will help you put on a show."

Behind the wheel, Shepherd sighed. "Why drag me into this?"

"Stop complaining! After this failed attempt, the royal family will contact you. Am I right?"

Everyone in Martial City knew Shepherd valued profit above all else—at least to the ones in the car. Andre's words rang true.

"Fine. We'll put on a show. I'll be the good guy just for once," Shepherd agreed.

Deborah smirked. Playing the good guy? He simply saw better odds backing Felix than the overbearing royal family.

In Imperial City, Zayn's face darkened as he hung up the phone. "Ean! Have you heard? The six masters of Transcendent Realm failed. It feels like a nightmare."

Ean Palmer remained notably calmer, contemplating before speaking, "It seems Felix has multiple ways to save himself. Or perhaps Deborah arranged a hidden backup."noveldrama

Zayn fumed. He had thought Felix's death was certain. "What now? Should we make another attempt when he leaves the city?"

Ean shook his head. "We can't gather that many masters again so soon. We need to break them from within.

"Have someone contact Shepherd. That old fox would kill his own mother for the right price."

Zayn grinned. "Always so steady, Ean. That's a good plan. If we get Shepherd on board, three masters of Transcendent Realm should be enough for Felix.

"I doubt he has another trump card capable of killing a few masters of Transcendent Realm."

...

Under the bright sun, a

Mercedes-Benz entered Imperial City. Felix planned to grab a quick meal before meeting the King. Just going through the motions wouldn't take long.

"Madam Goddard, go ahead. The jewelry there seems great. I want to pick something for Nerissa."

The restaurant was right across the street, and the assassination had just begun. The royal family wouldn't be crazy enough to kill openly in

their own territory. fo

After buying a hairpin, Felix turned toward the restaurant and locked eyes with someone about 16 feet away.

"Felix, I never imagined our first meeting in Martial City would be like this."

Felix smiled. "How did you imagine it would be, Aiden?"

Honestly, seeing Aiden here stirred no killing intent in Felix. He had

many other concerns, and Aide ope

would have to wait.

"It doesn't matter. Within six months, I'll kill you myself. Remember that," Aiden said.

After delivering his simple death threat, he left.

Felix felt regret. If the royal family hadn't been watching, this would have been the perfect time to eliminate Aiden.

"By the way, I might not even need to kill you myself."

Hearing Aiden's telepathic message, Felix scoffed. "All talk and no action."

But his next words changed Felix's expression.

"I wonder how the royal family would react if they knew the Empress' son was not only alive but in Martial City?"
