The True Lady Strikes Back novel (Cecilia and Christopher)

Chapter 237

Chapter 237

“Wolf Killer” did not have the capability to directly call Aiden’s phone. Instead, he got in touch with the

nurse station at the hospital and had them connect Aiden to the call.

Aiden immediately had his team trace the incoming number, discovering that it was a virtual network

number.

Aiden had anticipated it, so it didn’t surprise him much.

He answered the phone and said in a deep voice, “It’s me.”

“Commander Shaw, it’s not easy to hear your voice for the first time after all these years.”

“You won’t just hear my voice. You’ll see me soon.”

“I’m hoping for that too. After all, your grandmother’s life is in my hands. Hahaha…”

Listening to the frenzied laughter on the other end, Aiden remarked, “Aren’t you afraid you’re saying

too much, and I’ll use voice recognition. to find you?”

It was still possible to restore the audio to its original form though the other party used a voice

changer.

As soon as his words fell, the shareholder of “Wolf Killer” suddenly fell silent as if the pause button had

been pressed.

Inde was not the time for complacency.

He stated, “The antidote has been sent to the hospital. Do ensure it is received.”

After saying that, the call was promptly disconnected.

Aiden put down the phone and handed the recording USB drive to his secretary.

“Analyze the audio. Screen it with a large data and see if there is a match.” “Yes, Commander. I’ll make

the arrangements immediately.”

The secretary respectfully took the USB drive and went on, “Commander, a package with your name

on it has arrived at the hospital. Should we send it for inspection?”

Thinking of what “Wolf Killer” had said, Aiden shook his head. “No need. Bring it here.”

“Commander, I’ll personally open the package just to be safe.”

With a recent surge in poisoning cases, the secretary was worried that there might be highly toxic

substances on the package.

Aiden didn’t think there would be a problem with the package, because the purpose of “Wolf Killer” was

not to kill him, but to exert control over him.

It was more beneficial to have something happen to those around Aiden than to himself.

Nonetheless, Aiden nodded. “Have someone bring the package over.” The package was swiftly

delivered to the nurse’s station.

The secretary put on rubber gloves and carefully opened the package. There was a piece of paper

inside, and a small brown bottle with faintly visible white pills could be vaguely seen.

The secretary picked up the piece of paper, revealing the written side to Aiden.

The words on the piece of paper are printed out.

“The antidote can only treat the symptoms but not the root cause. One pill per week to stay alive.”

After reading it, Aiden picked up the pill bottle and examined it, finding two pills the size of peanuts

inside.

He knew that there would be no problem with the medicine, so he immediately took it to the operating

room and called Cecilia out. “Ceris is the medicine sent by ‘Wolf Killer‘. It can temporarily save Gr a’s

life, but whether to administer it to her or not is your

decision.”

Cecilia took the brown pill bottle and answered, “I won’t give it to Grandma Elaine unless it’s absolutely

necessary.”

There had to be something wrong with this antidote, as “Wolf Killer” would not be so kind.

Aiden nodded. “That’s what I think too. It’s best to avoid using it if possible. How is she now?”

“Her situation has stabilized for the time being. We need to identify the toxin and treat it accordingly.”

“In that case, I’ll take one of the pills to the laboratory and have them analyze its composition.”

“Okay. I’ll get back to work.”

After Cecilia entered the operating room, Aiden asked for a sealed bag from the nurse. He then poured RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only

out a pill and handed it to the secretary. “Take it to the laboratory, and have the head of the department

personally analyze it. Don’t leak this.”

“Yes, Commander.”

The secretary left with the antidote.

Aiden leaned against the wall outside the operating room and reviewed the clues he had found

recently, as well as those provided by Charlie in his mind.

The once invisible and elusive “Wolf Killer” was now gradually taking shape.

Aiden had a hunch that it would not be long before he could completely annihilate the organization that

had harmed countless people.

Now, the most important step was to find a stand–in for Cecilia.

It was not easy to find one.

They needed more than just bearing a resemblance to Cecilia in appearance, they also had to possess

skills good enough to protect themselves.

Thinking of it, Aiden rubbed his temples.

The matter of finding a stand–in needed to be done as soon as possible lest any unexpected changes

happen, so as to avoid missing the opp ity to infiltrate into “Wolf Killer.”

Thets in the operating room went out as he contemplated whether to look for a stand–in among people

from the police and military across the country.

Aiden immediately stood up and positioned himself at the door.

Soon, the operating room door swung open, and a mobile hospital bed was pushed out.

Elaine was lying on the hospital bed with a pale face and an unnatural shade of purple on her lips. She

appeared lifeless.

Aiden’s heart tightened, and he immediately asked the surgeon who emerged, “How is she?”

Cecilia replied on behalf of the doctor, “She is fine at the moment, but her condition can deteriorate at

any time. Grandma Elaine will be

transferred to the intensive care unit and her physiological data will be monitored closely for 20 hours.

She’ll be immediately given the antidote if any issues arise.”

After explaining, she asked, “Aiden, do you have the results from the laboratory?”

Aiden shook his head. “It was sent just a short while ago. The results won’t be available so quickly.

“I’ll go and see if I can help.”

“Be careful of Jeffrey.”

Being in the same laboratory, he worried that Jeffrey might find a chance to harm Cecilia.

Elaine was already in trouble, and he didn’t want Cecilia to be in danger as well.

Cecilia removed her surgical gown and responded with a smile, “Aiden, I’m looking forward to Jeffrey

making a move.”

They would have a legitimate reason to take him down as long as he made a move.

Aiden ruffled Cecilia’s hair and said with a serious tone, “Don’t put yourself in danger.”

“Don’t worry. Jeffrey won’t succeed even if he intends to target me. I’ll head to the laboratory now.”

“Go ahead.”

Cecilia quickly reached the laboratory

Cecilia was initially denied entry, but Aiden spoke up before the head allowed her to enter.

She felt much relieved when she saw that the entrance and exit were so

strict.

“Dr. Young, how’s it going now?”

Casper Young did not raise his head and continued his analysis, saying, “I’ve identified some

components of the antidote, and I had my assistant fuse the antidote with the poison. It does have a detoxifying effect, but it generates another toxin. The antidote can’t be used unless it is absolutely

necessary.”

Otherwise, the speed of research would not catch up with the pace at which the toxin was being

produced. Elaine’s life would really be in the hands of someone else.

Cecilia had suspected that there was something wrong with the antidote, so she wasn’t surprised to

hear Casper’s words.

She asked again, “Have you analyzed the components of the poison?” They would be able to develop

an antidote when they knew what the poison was.

Casper pointed toward something. “Go ask them. Don’t bother me.” Cecilia knew that everyone in that

department was competing for time. She did not ask any more questions but looked for the data

herself.

A rough analysis of the poisons was now available, revealing a blend of traditional medicine in conflict

with one another and the presence of synthetic toxins.

The composition was highly complex.

In other words, the development of an antidote was also very troublesome.

Cecilia looked at the busy crowd and stated, “Let me help you study the new toxins.”

It was a two–pronged approach to focus on overcoming whichever poison was easy to detoxify.
