CASSIE 21: Hidden Battle
CASSIE 21: Hidden Battle
My eyes found Asher's, and in that quiet moment, the world seemed to pause. His hand brushed gently from my earlobe down to the curve of my neck, sending a
soft shiver through me.
"You are my everything, Cassie... my emotions, my heart," he whispered. My heart fluttered, wrapped in the warmth of his love.
Our lips met'in a kiss that deepened with every breath; tongues twisted, filled with longing we couldn't hide. His mouth moved over mine, teasing, tasting, tempting, as if time belonged only to us.
Whenever in bed, his thoughts, his soul, his body-all about him is mine.
Asher placed me on the soft bed, his touch laced with a hunger that stirred something deep within me. He sniffed my femininity in a thirsty, worshipful way as if he couldn't get enough.
My inner trembled, anticipating our bodies to become one.
I melted beneath the intensity of his orbs. Every second felt like a symphony of pleasure, with only his gasps and low moans filling the air like I was lost in a dream of ecstasy.
"Asher..."
He flipped me onto the bed, his lips grazing my neck with teasing nips, like the possessive cat. Then, he took over, stealing all the control.
No matter how much anger I held onto, he knew precisely how to unravel me, how to press the right buttons, making it far too easy to forgive him.
It was intoxicating how my desire met the bare heat of Asher, skin to skin like we were made to fit that way.
"Babe, you are absolutely incredible..." He murmured after one thrust! "I love you so much... We will build a home with our children... Your photos will be everywhere, and every part of you, your nakedness, your sweet scent, are mine. Promised me that, love..."
"I promised..." I moaned, breathless, as I felt him completely-his thick hardness- moving in rhythm with mine, dissolving every ounce of resistance I had.
Asher is the name my heart cries for... Until it is not...
Some promises are meant to be broken, just like the love he once gave me.

The beeping of a machine stirred me awake.
When I opened my eyes, I found Roxie clutching my hand on her side of the bed. On my other arm, a blood transfusion slowly dripped crimson life into my veins. My fingers involuntarily clenched into a fist.
"W-what happened?" I asked, panic rising in my chest.
"Cassie..." Her voice cracked as she started to cry. "Everyone was caught up in the show. I told our handler I'd take you to the hospital. They said they'd follow soon and take turns watching over you."
Roxie and I were under the same agency and shared the same agent.
"What about you? The show?" I asked frantically, suddenly remembering what day it was.
"Don't worry about that," Roxie said, disbelief flickering in her eyes, though sadness lingered beneath it. "Cassie... d-do you know about your condition?" she asked in a low voice.
My lips trembled at her question, but I nodded slowly.
"So, you do know... Then why take this job? Why not focus on getting better?" she sobbed. The genuine care in each tear she released wrapped around me like a blanket.noveldrama
"Because I don't know how long 'Cassie'-the healthy version of me-will stay. I don't know how long her smooth skin will last before it starts fading, before she begins to lose her hair..."
Roxie broke down completely, and I continued.
"This is probably the last fashion week I'll ever walk in as a headliner. That's why I accepted it. But I've already told our agent I'm not taking any more pending jobs after this."
She hugged me tightly, sobbing against my shoulder Inever realized just hoty much she cared-not until now. She'd even left rehearsals just to be here with me. Successfully unlocked!
"Did you tell our agent or the handler about... what you discovered?" I asked cautiously.
Roxie pulled back and shook her head. “That's not mine to share. Does anyone else know? Does Isabella?"
An alarm shot through me. I gripped her hand tightly.

"Please don't tell anyone. I'm begging you. I will tell Isabella myself," I pleaded.
Tears were streaming freely down her gorgeous face.
"Hey, come on now! I'm still alive, why are you crying like that? We've got a show to do, Rox. If you show up with puffy eyes, our agent's gonna totally freak out."
She continued crying quietly beside me. My condition must have triggered her PTSD. I heard her brother was in a coma- the very reason she'd become Mr. Gideon Blake's woman in the first place.
The nurse had just removed my transfusion line, and I had finished receiving instructions from the doctor when our agent burst into the room with an assistant trailing behind him.
"Are you alright?" our agent demanded
Roxie looked visibly anxious.
I answered casually, brushing it off like it was nothing. "I'm fine... Just a little issue with my diet. I hadn't been monitoring it properly. I just got back from abroad and skipped a few meals."
"Good grief! But you're okay now?" he pressed.
"Very much healthy," I replied with a smile.
Roxie's eyes reddened again at my blatant lie. I reached out and gave her hand a gentle squeeze to reassure her.
That day, despite the minor scare before the runway, I was genuinely happy that Roxie and I pulled through.
After the show ended, I got two beautiful bouquets of yellow roses-my favorite. One was from Asher, the other from Ronan.
Then, two messages came in, one from each of them.
Ronan: "Let's celebrate! Do you have time, girlfriend?"
Asher: "I saw the live stream. Gorgeous as ever. Hope you liked the flowers I sent."
I left Asher's message unanswered, feeling a sudden surge of excitement at the prospect of seeing Ronan again.
There was something about that delicious- I mean, handsome man that made my heart race.
While waiting outside the venue for Ronan, I saw Roxie get into Mr. Blake's shiny, dark vehicle. The window was down just enough for me to see Gideon's serious face as he let her in.
Then Ronan's car finally pulled up. Despite my towering heels and lingering fatigue, I hurried toward his car, barely able to contain my excitement.
He kissed me on the cheek, his scent enveloping me, and I smiled like a giddy schoolgirl.
What I didn't expect was the paparazzi.
Someone had taken a photo of me hugging Ronan. His face wasn't visible, but
the image still exploded on social media. [Who is this mysterious man? Is Miss Cassie hiding her love affair?]
"Oh my god! Perhaps it was Asher Reid?"
"Asher Reid isn't blonde!"
"It's probably her brother, Evan Monroe!"
"That intimate? Cassie girl, who is that tall guy you're hiding?"
But I never imagined the paparazzi drama would be the least of my worries. I
should be more careful with my heart. Because eventually, the truth about Ronan will come out, and I'll end up getting my heart broken all over again.
