The Woman From Hell

Chapter 2706

Grant Corporation.

I felt the solemn atmosphere the moment I entered the hall, and it seemed like everyone's gaze was directed toward me. Not only that, each and every one of their eyes was full of fear. They were fearful of losing their jobs.

I cast a firm look at them, hoping to ease their tension at the moment.© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.

Yet I was the one who was even more nervous than them.

The tension in my heart slowly intensified after I got onto the elevator and watched as it climbed higher.

Beside me, Shannon inadvertently brushed against my cold fingertips, sensing my emotions.

Shannon took my hand, a smile creeping onto the corners of her mouth. It made me feel warm. "We're here," she said.

Just one simple sentence warmed me.

Marius also spoke up then, "Exactly. There're so many of us here. We'll support you."

"Thank you."

I looked at them and could not help the smile making its way on my face as I relaxed a little.

Shannon and Marius entered the conference room while I stood at the door for a moment, waiting. We had discussed this at the beginning.

The door to the conference room was shut tight and through the gap, I could see that it was full of people inside. Every one of the shareholders looked heavy.

I turned sideways and shifted my gaze to Theo.

It had only been a month, but his chin was much sharper now. His figure was also obviously thinner.

He must not have been eating well during this time as he focused completely on work.

All of a sudden Nibel's voice grated my ears. "President Grant, you've been allowed that position long enough.

"You know I'm a Grant. Who else could it be if not me?" Theo's voice was filled with coldness.

Nibel's piercing laughter sounded, his words mocking. "How can you remain so high and mighty without the support of these shareholders? For today, however, I'm going to reveal your true face."

Everyone's expressions changed at that.

"What did Mr. Nibel say?!"

That was Cindy's voice.

I did not expect her to be back so soon.

My gaze was fixed on Nibel and I saw him throw out a document onto the table. "Grant Corporation has lost so many projects in just one month. What is your explanation for this, President Grant?"

The moment he said that, Shannon answered, "You should be the best person to know why that happened, Mr. Nibel."

"That he allowed the projects to be snatched away so easily shows that President Grant is not as capable as the rumors make him out to be." Nibel chuckled.

"Easily? Pristine Group joined forces with Yard and Wolfe Group to snatch those businesses. I can't fathom how shameless you have to be to say all that," Shannon shot back.

Cindy went along with her and

continued, "Isn't it the embodiment of President Grant's capability that Grant Corporation can survive until now after you robbed it of so many projects? You know how much

after

money is involved in the projects that you took."

Nibel's expression had turned sour then likely because he did not expect Shannon and Cindy to speak up. He turned to look at Theo. "President Grant, why don't you say anything?"

Theo had been listening to their

conversation with downcast eyes. He only looked up after hearing Nibel's question directed at him. "They've said everything for me i thinkt don't need to explain anymore."

о

"Alright. Then I don't need to talk about these projects anymore but you have to explain the next issue, President Grant."

A sly smile crawled onto Nibel's lips. He then took out a document from the side and had his assistant distribute it to everyone present...
