Chapter 2733
"It sounds like Sylvester is sure that Silas has gone abroad. If Silas really were still in Hatton, then he really distrusts Sylvester too much." Theo chuckled, as if sarcastically. "Yes. Who would've thought that the grandson was dissatisfied with his grandfather while at the same time, the grandfather distrusts his grandson," I chimed in.
They had lived together for more than twenty years after all but still, there did not seem to be a shred of family affection between them.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
I shook my head helplessly, a taste of bitterness in my heart. If my mother were still around she would probably be unhappy.
"By the way, Sylvester is sorting out the Yard Group's files from the past twenty years. Is there any point to this?"
My mind had been locked on this, I wanted to know the answer.
"Historical archives?" Theo touched his chin with a thoughtful look.
I looked at him, my gaze serious. "Yes, you're the clearest about these things. What do you say is the point of sorting these out?"
"On the one hand, he might want to learn about projects. On the other hand, he might want to destroy them," Theo said.
Destroy them?
I did not understand this. "Why would he want to destroy Silas's files when he was in charge?"
"I'm not sure what Sylvester's purpose is but it stands to reason that these files must have been kept for easy reference." Theo also looked confused.
Leaning on the edge of the table with my chin propped, I contemplated. "It would be too much of an exaggeration for him to destroy all the files from the past twenty years. Could he just want to eliminate a part of them?" Theo agreed with what I said. "It's also possible."
What a headache.
I waved my hand. "Forget it, this has nothing to do with us so let's not think about it. Let's focus on Silas now. We need to confirm if Silas has gone abroad and where Gareth is now. If we can find him, I wouldn't need to sneak into Yard Mansion either." "Yes. I've already assigned people to that but we probably won't hear anything too soon."
"Got it. I'll also get someone to look into this," I said.
Theo suddenly approached me and held my face. "You've lost weight recently. Don't think about it anymore. You have to eat well and rest well."
"You're worrying about me when
you're the one who's lost weight.

"Then, let's go downstairs and cook up a late-night snack." Theo pulled me downstairs.
I watched him roll up his sleeves and could not help but laugh as he prepared to show off his skills. "What are you going to do?"
"Supper will, of course, be noodles
and soup. It's convenient and fast" Theo looked back at me and
motioned for me to sit down eg
"You
wait outside. I'll bring it out.
"Okay."
I watched Theo quietly as he busied himself in the kitchen. He said it would be simple noodles but still he was adding all sorts of things in. It looked quite luxurious.
"Here it is."
He put the hot noodles in front of me and then grabbed a small bowl for himself. "I'll just have a small bowl of it, you eat the rest."
I looked at my bowl which was two times bigger than his and laughed. "This is too much. I can't. I have to give you some."
There was also quite a bit of egg, ham, and lettuce in the noodles.
"No, you have to finish them."
"It's just too much." My brows wrinkled, and I was perplexed.
Only then did Theo relent. "Then, you should eat first and leave the rest that you can't finish to me. Is that okay?"
I nodded. "Okay, let's do that."
It was late at night as Theo and I made these good memories amidst the light in the dining room.
Sometimes, happiness came from only a bowl of hot noodles.
