Through the eyes of my alpha Chapter 42

NADIA. I woke up wrapped up in Riley’s arms, and I almost forgot that we were not on good terms at the moment. I missed his warmth and the explosive sparks that only his touch could give me. I reveled in them until it dawned on me that he had taken advantage of my sleeping state. I told him to stay on his side, and he obviously didn’t keep his words.

My nose flared and I was about to wake him up so I could berate him for his actions when I realized that I was actually the one sleeping on his side of the bed, which meant I was the one who crawled over to him.

Unless he carried me to his side.

But he had told me previously that I always crawled to his side, so I wasn’t sure now if this was my doing or not.

So instead of confronting him, I found myself placing a soft kiss on his nose before slowly and carefully sliding to my side of the bed and curling up under the blanket, hoping he would never find out that I slept in his arms and that I stole a kiss from him.

I tried to.

sleep after that, but I couldn’t anymore.

And it didn’t take that long before Riley moved and rose to his feet.

He didn’t even bother to check on me before he went to the bathroom.

It took a while before he came out, and he just walked out of the bedroom afterward.

I sulked in annoyance because I was ignored.

Wasn’t he supposed to be wooing me?

‘He probably thought you were sleeping.

Stop with the drama.

’ Arrow snarled in my head, and I just rolled my eyes at her.

He didn’t even check on me.

Or at least kiss me like he usually did, even when I was asleep.

‘Oh, Nadia.

You act as if you’re scared of our mate, and now you’re annoyed that he doesn’t come near you.

Why don’t you kiss him and check if he’ll push you away?

’ I could tell my wolf was already annoyed at me.

She might be right, but I still felt bad.

In the three weeks that I was here, I was so used to his attention and his pampering ways that I couldn’t help but get annoyed with how he just suddenly seemed to ignore me.

I shoved the blanket off my body and rose from the bed, walking towards the window.

He woke up too early.

He might be going out for a run.

And that was why I was here, sitting on the window sill, waiting for Hunter to appear.

And I was right.

After just a few seconds, his naked form came into view as he walked towards the forest line before shifting into his wolf.

The nerve of this man to walk from his office naked?

Couldn’t he take off his clothes inside the forest and shift there instead of strutting his d*k and as around where omega females working around the packhouse could see him?

One day, I would give him a dose of his own medicine.

I would walk around naked too.

I chuckled at my own thoughts.

Oh, Goddess!

Not being able to talk to my mate was driving me crazy.

I honestly had no idea what my plans were.

And what I should be doing next.

I know now who he was before I met him.

I should have been scared and just left, but I couldn’t.

I didn’t want to.

I just realized I wanted him more than anything.

And if he really was a bad person, maybe it wasn’t too late to change.

Maybe we could find ways together so his past wouldn’t come back to haunt us.

I was still contemplating what I needed to do next when Hunter appeared from the forest line with long- stemmed flowers in his mouth.

I couldn’t help the smile curling on my face.

I was already assuming those were for me.

I made my way to the bathroom to hurriedly wash my face and brush my teeth, and I grabbed the novel I was reading before slumping down on the couch and pretending to read while waiting for him.

I knew he had given me flowers last git, but a female could never have too many flowers.

I was glad he knew that.

But the seconds turned to minutes, and I had already been waiting for twenty minutes, and he was still not here.

Maybe the flowers were not for me.

I stood up from the couch, disappointed as I placed the book back on the shelves when the door opened.

My body automatically swung to face the door, and I saw my mate, peeking his head from the door, looking around until our eyes met.

He flashed me a boyish smile, and I just raised my brow while discretely clamping my legs together because he looked so handsome right now with his hair tied in a ponytail, and my body was already giving me signals that my core might start leaking soon.

“Good morning…” His voice was husky, and it took a lot of effort not to grin back at him.

“Good morning…” He entered the room and closed the door with his foot before he took out whatever he was hiding behind his back “Flowers?

Again?

But you just gave me one last night.

” I took them from his hand and held them close to my nose, sniffing the smell of the wildflowers and the musky scent of the forest.

I would say I was impressive.

I acted like I didn’t see him coming out of the forest with these flowers.

“I don’t know if you liked them or not.

Then, while running earlier, I saw those beautiful ones and thought of you.

Maybe you would like these better.

” “I liked the ones from last night.

But these are way better.

Thank you.

” I smiled at him, letting my hand run on the pink ribbon he used to tie them up in place.

“Did you fix this?

Or did you ask for help from the females in the kitchen?

” I wasn’t sure if my tone was laced with jealousy, but my heart clenched at the thought of him appearing naked in front of those females.

I knew most of them were mated, but it didn’t change the fact that my male is very attractive.

I saw his mouth twitching into a smile, but it was gone in seconds.

“I tried to figure out how to do it on my own until Dominic showed up and we figured it out together.

” “But you did well, it looks nice.

Thank you…” “I’m glad you liked it.

And as much as I wanted to stay longer and talk with you, I have to get going. Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

I have a scheduled meeting at eight.

” My head tilted up to look at him.

“Are you not taking me with you?

I thought you…” “I thought you wanted to spend today with Jenny, learning how to drive, rather than spending time with me.

” His voice sounded hurt.

“But I haven’t decided yet.

It was just an option.

Was it the reason you stormed off yesterday?

Because I wanted to spend the day learning how to drive rather than go with you somewhere?

” He seemed taken aback by my question, but he did respond after a while.

“Yes.

That’s the reason.

” “Hmm.

But I can change my mind, right?

Except, of course, if you change your mind and don’t want me to…” “Come with me.

” He didn’t let me finish my words.

“Okay!

” I blurted out excitedly.

“How much time do I have to prepare?

” “Ten minutes, but I will give you twenty minutes.

I will just have to drive faster.

Do you think you can…” “Yes!

Stop talking and start working on yourself.

” I told him as I placed the flowers on the table.

I had to ask Jenny’s help to find a vase for them before I go.

“I’ll just shower quickly,” I told Riley as I made my way to the bathroom.

“Can I join you?

” he asked.

“No!

” I answered almost immediately.

Not that I didn’t want to, but if we wanted to make it in twenty minutes, he needed to stay away from me.
