Chapter 546
A nurse came in to change the dressing on Yvette's face after Terrence left. Xavier had also returned to take her home by then.Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
After getting into the car, he said, "I've already sent someone to investigate that man. We should be able to hear something soon as long as he's in Tirion."
"Okay," Yvette replied with a nod. She had also instructed Ray to assign someone specifically to investigate around Zoey and Marlene.
Noah threw himself into Yvette's arms as soon as they were back in Dewberry Manor. "Is Zac alright, Mom?" The articles had gone viral online, so he'd heard about it too.
Yvette immediately comforted him, saying, "He's fine. He's already gone to Mr. Tristan's house with Kiki."
Noah was finally relieved. He noticed the bandage on her face and asked in confusion, "What happened to your face, Mom?"
Afraid that he might worry, Yvette lied, "I accidentally scratched myself. But don't worry; the doctor said it'll heal in a few days."
Being a thoughtful boy, Noah naturally did not believe her words. But he knew that there was no use pressing her further since she would never tell him the truth. "You have to be more careful, Mom." Yvette nodded and replied, "Alright."
Noah then looked toward Xavier and said, "Please stop wandering around at night anymore, mister. Otherwise we'll have to look for you."
Xavier replied, "Okay." He was a little more patient toward Noah now.
There was something else he was concerned about-what Yvette had said when she'd been worried about Zachary. She had asked for him to save their son.
She hadn't brought it up after Zachary had been rescued, yet Xavier kept her words in mind. Were Zachary and Noah his children?
But Mark had clearly told him that they were unrelated by blood when they'd done the paternity test back then.
Had something been wrong with the paternity test from back then?
Xavier decided to have Mark redo the paternity test.
Xavier and Yvette were the only ones left at home once Noah went to bed at night.
"Thank you for saving Zac," she said, seeming much calmer now.
Xavier had already given Mark a sample of Noah's DNA. He did not ask Yvette about his relationship with the two children. Instead, he asked, "Does your word still stand?"
Yvette was stunned. She recalled telling him that she would no longer ask for a divorce if Zachary was rescued. She nodded and replied, "Yes." "But-" She paused, recalling Derek's threat toward her, and continued, "Zac's kidnapper threatened me to leave Tirion."
A call came in before Xavier could respond. He accepted the call and realized that it was Clifford.
Clifford asked, "Why didn't you tell me such a huge incident happened? How was the child now?"
Xavier replied, "He's fine."
Shannon had asked about it during the afternoon as well. They all thought that something had happened to Noah. "Have you found out who was behind it?" Clifford asked again.
Xavier replied, "Not yet."
Clifford couldn't help but suspect the other Lane family branches when he heard Xavier's answer. "They're really brushing you off just because you can't see."
After all, there would be one less child to compete for the Lane family's wealth if Noah were to die.
Xavier shared the same thought and had instructed Mark to secretly investigate each of the Lanes.
Clifford changed his tone and said, "You should just bring Noah back to Lane Mansion. It's safer, and he could receive a better education here."
"No need. He's doing fine staying here." Xavier ended the call shortly after. He knew that Yvette wouldn't agree to having Noah live in Lane Mansion.
Yvette wasn't sure what was said on
the other end of the line, but from
Xavier's words, she gathered that

Xavier walked over and asked, "Are you tired? Let's go to bed now." After all, so much had happened in a day.
Yvette replied, "Alright." After taking a shower, she lay in bed. Her mind was filled with the dangerous scenes from earlier.
