Chapter 1078
The man seemed gentle on the surface, but was actually sharp and assertive. In front of him, Rebecca White felt like she had no choice but to comply.
"Don't! Not here..."
Rebecca feared he might actually take action, so she reluctantly lifted the hem of her nightgown to reveal her knee.
Francis took a good look, his expression darkening.
"You..."
He tilted his chin slightly, pointing inside, "Go change your clothes. We're going to the hospital."
"No need!"
Rebecca White shook her head, frowning. "It's just bruised, not serious. No need for the hospital."
Francis was silent for a moment, then relented, "Do we have any ointment at home?"
"No," Rebecca White shook her head again, "It's not necessary. It's just a small injury... it'll heal on its own in a few days." Francis held back a sigh, stepped inside.
He didn't come empty-handed; he was holding a breakfast bag from The Velvet Fork. Once inside, he set it down on the table. Turning back to Rebecca White, his tone softened, "Go freshen up, then come have breakfast."
"...Okay."
Rebecca White knew there was no use in refusing, so she nodded and went into the bathroom. Francis pulled out a chair and sat down, picking up his phone to send a message to Sawyer...
After that, he opened the breakfast bag, laying out the food neatly.
In no time, Rebecca White was back.
"Sit down and eat," Francis gestured to the chair beside him.
"Mm, thank you."
Rebecca White complied, sitting down and quietly starting her meal.
"Rebecca..."
After a brief silence, Francis broke it, "This is the second time you've been hurt, and you still refuse my help?"
"..." Rebecca White took a bite of her croissant, her cheeks puffed out.
"Do you think I was lying to you last night?"
Francis let out a barely audible chuckle, pointing to her knee, "And now? Do you still doubt me?"
"No..." Rebecca White slowly shook her head.
Francis nodded, "You need to get
treated. Yes, you've been fine before,
but lately, your spells have been
more frequent... probably because you found out about James.
He tapped his temple.
"Your memory... it's been triggered."
OUMS
Pausing for a few seconds, he continued, "Rebecca, let me take care of you... you need me."
Rebecca White's mind was in turmoil, unable to make a decision.
If she agreed, would that mean she was agreeing to everything he wanted?
Just thinking back to that night five years ago, she still couldn't face him calmly...
"You said I was being kind to you because of James, that I was kind to you for his sake. Fine, think of it that way. It's for James's mom." Francis was patient, coaxing her gently.
"I can't let James's mom get hurt. So for James's sake... let me take care of you."
Rebecca White wrestled with her emotions and indecision.
Francis took a deep breath, "I'm not

trying to control you, but you need someone to look after you. I need to relocate you to a better place. how about it?"
The conversation had reached this point.
Finally, Rebecca White took a deep breath and nodded, "...Okay."
"!"
Francis was momentarily stunned, then overjoyed.
"Alright."
He smiled picking up his fork, and placed another croissant on her
plate. Il make the arrangemenoveldrama
right away. Finish up... I'll drive you
to work later."
With that, he picked up his phone and stood up.
"It's me..."
Francis dialed a number, giving instructions, "Get the house at Rosewood Mansion ready; have the staff and caretaker in place by today..."
Rebecca White listened quietly, her head down as she ate her croissant.
She took a bite of the spicy tofu filling, with a hint of vinegar...
It was her favorite flavor.
She glanced at Francis. Was it a coincidence? Or did he already know her so well?
What do you think?
