You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 84

Elijah raised an eyebrow, intrigued, “What’s the surprise?”

Freya teased him with a playful smile, “Can’t spill the beans just yet.”

Elijah chuckled, “Still keeping me in suspense, huh?”

Changing the subject, Freya asked, “Where were you earlier?”

There was a brief awkwardness in Elijah’s expression before he replied, “Work-related matters.”

Freya had noticed Liora Valentine getting into his car at that time, and skepticism lingered in her mind.

He was now claiming work?

Discussing business in bed with Liora Valentine, perhaps?

Freya shook off those thoughts. Elijah’s actions were more repugnant than her suspicions. He was flirting on one side while keeping a relationship with another woman. Even more absurd, she once considered Elijah’s gestures to be genuine!

“It’s late; let’s go back and get some sleep,” Freya suggested, standing up.

They headed back to the room together, Elijah whispering in her ear, “Can I share your bed tonight?”

Freya, unfazed, responded with a cold smile, “Certainly.”

Elijah seemed taken aback; he didn’t expect Freya to agree. More surprising, she invited him, “You can use the bath in my room.”

Confused, Elijah touched her forehead, as if suspecting a fever. Freya swatted his hand away, saying, “What are you doing?”

Once in her room, Elijah felt a peculiar scent in the air. Freya didn’t use perfume, so it puzzled him.

“What’s that smell?” Elijah asked.

Freya explained, “I lit some incense for better sleep. Do you find it unpleasant?”

Elijah, mistaking the incense for something else, frowned. Freya clarified, “Wait for me; I’ll go take a bath first.”

As the bathroom echoed with the sound of rushing water, Elijah felt a strange weakness creeping over him. He lay down on the bed, closed his eyes.

Wait a minute!

He abruptly opened his eyes, staring up at the incense, aware that there was something wrong with it. After inhaling its scent, his entire body felt powerless.

Elijah tried to get up to extinguish it, only to realize he had no strength left to move. He slumped back, utterly powerless. The scent had made him lethargic.

The water in the bathroom stopped, and Freya, neatly dressed, emerged.

“What are you up to?” Elijah questioned, struggling against the lethargy.

Freya smiled, revealing a surprise, “A surprise for you.”

Elijah squinted, suspicion clouding his eyes, “Are you plotting against me? What’s your game?”

Freya placed a prepared divorce agreement on the bedside, “I’ve signed it. Once you sign, we’ll be divorced.”

“You must be dreaming!” Elijah’s fury rose. He had been duped, and he was in a vulnerable state.

Freya remained composed, “I am divorcing you, Elijah.”

“Divorcing me so you can run to your lover?” Elijah’s rage intensified.

Freya played along, teasing, “Yes, my lover has been waiting. I miss him, and we plan to elope, find our paradise, and start a joyful life.”

“Freya, you’re delusional!” Elijah’s face turned grim. Unable to move, he vowed silently to capture her, to make her regret betraying him.

Freya calmly watched the man, tossing the set of knives he had given her right in front of him into the trash.

“This thing disgusts me,” she declared.

Elijah squinted, “You let me go!”

“Let you go? How would I leave then?” she replied.

Freya stood at the foot of the bed, looking at him. She had once harbored feelings for this man, but now, she completely withdrew them. Elijah stared at her intensely, “You better escape to a place I can’t find. Otherwise, if I catch you, I’ll make sure to end you!”

“I know. I’ll hide well.”

With that, she walked out of the room.

“Freya Stone!” Elijah’s roaring voice echoed clearly. Freya Stone glanced back one last time at his eyes, now red with anger, and closed the door.

The incense continued to burn.

The weakness induced by the drug persisted into the next afternoon.

Linda, who also used the incense given by Freya, didn’t wake up until the afternoon. Nearly a day had passed, and Freya had long vanished without a trace, as she had planned. She took her clothes with her. All the apparent calm was just a façade.

The first thing Elijah did upon waking up was tear apart the divorce agreement. Signing it was out of the question. He casually threw it into the trash. With a deep frown, he vowed in his heart to capture that woman! And then, he would torture her mercilessly!

He had already stooped so low, yet she dared to betray him.

On the flip side, Freya had reached Stratos City. Her mother had arranged accommodation for her, and she took a day to rest. During dinner, Freya disclosed, “Mom, Elijah and I are divorced.”

Elowen approved, relieved by the end of an unloving marriage.

She served Freya a piece of fish, saying, “Divorce is for the best.”Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.

Freya, uneasy about revealing her pregnancy, decided to bring it up.

“Mom,” she hesitated, “I’m pregnant.”

Elowen was taken aback. After recovering, she questioned, somewhat incredulous, “You’re pregnant?”

Freya nodded.

“With Elijah?” Elowen’s mind jumped to the only man Freya had been with.

Freya, unable to reveal the truth, replied, “Yes.”

She told a lie.

Elowen accepted it for now, unaware of the real circumstances.

Elowen said while offering Freya more food, “You need to eat well when pregnant. Any morning sickness? How many months along are you?”

Freya looked up, “Mom, do you support me keeping the baby?”

“The child is yours,” Elowen acknowledged the importance of a child to a mother, setting aside the ideal solution of abortion after a divorce, “I’ve found a job as a shelf stocker, earning four thousand five hundred a month. It’s not much, but it should suffice. You can rest at home, and when the baby arrives, it won’t have any ties to the Silverton family.”

Freya sighed in gratitude, “Thank you, Mom.”

Elowen Noir, caring for her daughter’s emotions, responded, “Silent child, I am your mother. What are you thanking me for? Besides, I owe you these years. You stay at home and take care of yourself. It’s not good for the baby’s development to worry.”

Freya nodded.

“I know.”

“I’m going to be a grandmother. I’m very happy. How many months are you?” Elowen shifted the conversation.

“Almost three months.”

Elowen looked at her daughter, her expression somewhat trance-like. Time had passed so quickly.

“Take good care of yourself, don’t do anything. Don’t do as I did. When I was giving birth to you…” Elowen Noir realized she was saying too much and fell silent.

Freya knew what her mother wanted to say.

“Mom, it’s all in the past.”

Initially, Elowen was pregnant with twins, and Freya was the first to be born. The other baby didn’t make it, dying in the womb. It was because of this childbirth that Elowen suffered damage to her body and could no longer conceive. Freya could have had a younger brother.

Suddenly, Freya thought about the fact that she herself was pregnant with twins. Did she inherit this from her mother? If there were instances of twins in the family history, then her chances of having twins would be significant. But she had also lost one.

“Mom, you don’t have to go to work.”

Freya had already figured out a plan. So, her mother didn’t need to do laborious work to support her and the child.

“Freya…”

“Mom.”

Elowen wanted to speak, but Freya interrupted her, “I have a way to make money. You have to trust me.” She smiled, “You just need to take care of me and help me raise the child in the future.”

Elowen Noir, of course, was willing to help her daughter raise the child, so she nodded. Freya had everything planned out. The next day, she went out and met someone in a restaurant.

“Freya, long time no see.”
