Chapter 74 the Two Fall Out
Chapter 74 the Two Fall Out
With a faint smile, she raised her chin and reminded him, "As you said, this marriage is just a deal and
each of us takes what we need. Since I have no right to ask about your private affairs, you naturally
have no right to ask me, right?"
Beau Wright slowly narrowed his eyes and looked at her coldly. His eyes were as cold as ice, enough Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
to freeze people to death.
"Don't you think what I said is reasonable?" She wasn't scared of him, only asking in reply.
"You are trying to seduce others outside, and you want me to pretend that I didn't see this. Do you think
I am blind?" He said in a deep voice.
Harriet Smith said slowly, "I am also a living person, not a decoration, aren't I?"
A white smoke ring came out, making his eyes half-closed. His voice was low and deep, with a hint of
warning. "If you want to keep the baby, don't try to provoke my bottom line..."
The smell of smoke made Harriet Smith want to weep. She unconsciously clenched her fists and
sneered. "Since you threatened me with baby, how can I not understand?"
His eyes became sharp, and his expression immediately became even colder. He fiercely sucked in a
puff of smoke.
The atmosphere became even tenser...
She lowered her head and looked at her shoes, lost in thought.
Why was she testing him again?
Obviously, he loved Mary, and she was just a transaction item.
But every deal had its purpose, such as keeping the baby. What about him?
Even though she knew that she shouldn't have asked, she still raised her head and asked, "What on
earth do you want behind such a deal? Do you just want to find a woman to marry, or really love me, or
is there something more to it?"
He exhaled a whiff of smoke and narrowed his eyes without saying anything.
After a pause, Harriet Smith laughed at herself and said, "Well, I know. I won't ask again."
There was no need to ask. She knew that he couldn't answer, and she didn't have to get the result.
Was it interesting to provoke him again?
He was not someone she could provoke, wasn't he?
Hearing this, he became more and more annoyed. He threw the cigarette butt in his hand on the
ground, lifted his foot, and stepped on it, which was still shining in the night sky. He said, "Back to
House of Wright..."
As the night breeze blew, Harriet Smith's hair fluttered gently. She said, "Okay."
Anyway, she had stayed at home for four or five days. It would be the New Year in two or three days. It
was acceptable to go to the House of Wright.
She had to go back. It was just a matter of time. Since he had come to pick her up, she would take
another ride...
It was already 12 a.m. Lainey Brown had already taken a nap and was drinking water in the kitchen.
When she heard the sound of footsteps, she walked out and saw Harriet Smith coming in. She looked
unhappy and asked, "Why did you come back so late?"
She didn't expect that Lainey Brown had not yet fallen asleep. She stopped, called her softly, and then
explained, " I went to the classmate reunion."
After putting down the glass, Lainey Brown looked serious and aggressive. "You're married now, but
you always go home at midnight. Why?"
At this time, Beau Wright, who had parked the car, came in, put his arm around her shoulder, and said
to Lainey Brown.
"Mom, I have something to do at the last minute, which delayed my time. It's already so late, why
haven't you slept yet?"
As soon as he said that, Lainey Brown could not say anything more. Obviously, this was caused by
Beau. "I've slept for a while. I was a little thirsty, so I got up and had a glass of water."
"Mom, I'll go upstairs first." Harriet Smith greeted, got rid of his arm, and went upstairs.
When she returned to her room, Beau Wright had not yet gone upstairs. He seemed to be talking to
Lainey Brown in the living room.
Walking to the bedside, she picked up the quilt and pillow on the bed, and laid them down on the sofa.
Pushing the door open, Beau Wright saw it. He frowned and walked over. He reached out to grab her
arm and said in a deep voice, "Sleep on the bed..."
Harriet Smith suddenly wanted to laugh. She said in a faint voice, "Do you even care where I sleep?"
He pursed his thin lips and stared at her with narrowed eyes.
"I'll sleep on the bed. It'll make me more comfortable. There's nothing wrong with sleeping on the bed."
As she spoke, she took back the quilt and pillow that had been laid out. Her expression remained calm
and emotionless.
While she was making the bed, Beau Wright went to the bathroom. When she finished, he came out
with a bath towel.
Without saying anything or looking up, Harriet Smith brushed past him and closed the bathroom door.
Her figure was still as slender as usual, but she exuded an indescribable alienation. Beau Wright felt
annoyed and narrowed his eyes.
Warm water flowed through her body. She felt relaxed and closed her eyes slightly.
Lying in the bathtub like that, she put all her worries behind her mind. She didn't think about it,
completely relaxed, and lay there quietly.
She lay there for 30 minutes and almost fell asleep.
After taking a shower, Harriet Smith came out. Beau was not asleep yet. He leaned against the head of
the bed with the quilt covering his waist and abdomen. He was flipping through a magazine in his big
hand.
Glancing at him, Harriet Smith sat calmly in front of the dressing table and began to use skincare
products.
Her skin was a little dry in the winter.
Hearing the footsteps, the magazine in Beau Wright's hand slipped down, and his eyes seemed to
sweep over her figure and actions.
After using the toner, she reached for the lotion. But it seemed to be used up. She patted the bottle for
a long time and failed to squeeze it out.
Harriet Smith had no choice but to give up. She put the empty bottle aside, lifted the quilt, put on her
clothes, lay down, closed her eyes, and fell asleep.
Throughout the whole process, she didn't even look at him. Her movements were coherent.
It seemed very hard to say "good night". Beau Wright was a little stiff and embarrassed.
Putting aside the magazine in his hand, he rubbed his eyebrows in annoyance, leaned over, and turned
off the lamp. The room suddenly fell into darkness.
Beau Wright didn't close his eyes until he heard the calm breathing of the woman beside him.
After a long time, Harriet Smith slowly opened her eyes, turned her back to him, and leaned against the
bed as hard as she could.
