Chapter 486
Chapter 486
"Alright, if you want to apply for it, just go ahead at any time. I still have somewhere else to be so I'll be
leaving now."
After Franklin finished his words, he staggered to the side of the road and took a taxi to leave.
As soon as the man left, Natasha immediately looked at Lucille with disdain in her eyes and said,
"Lucille, since you can't control your man, then let me play with him. If it's not me, some other woman
will."
"Shut up!" When Lucille heard what Natasha said, she was furious.
"Franklin is involved with every celebrity in the entertainment industry. You're so ordinary. Maybe if one
day he became a poor man and had no one with him, he will be yours." After Abby said this, she pulled
Lucille into the car and left.
Lucille sat in the car and she had mixed emotions.
She did not know what Franklin was thinking.
Abby, who was on the side, shared her thoughts. "Lucille, what's wrong with Franklin? Why did he hide
the divorce just now?"
"Probably because he hates Natasha too."
It was the only explanation that made sense.
"But that does not justify him covering up the divorce. Since you two are divorced, wouldn't it be better
to just tell Natasha?"
Abby did not think so.
"I don't know."
In fact, from Franklin's eyes, Lucille seemed to have guessed what he was thinking.
Perhaps it was because he knew that the Jules family would target her after they found out that they
were divorced.
If that was the case, Franklin was being cruel and compassionate to her at the same time.
He slept with other women, but still gave her hope.
After Lucille got pregnant, Professor Garth from the University of Arts rejected her application. Knowing
this, Ethan introduced her to work in a gallery.
It was also Lucille's specialization.
She and Ethan met at the entrance of the gallery.
When she arrived, Ethan looked at her flat lower abdomen and asked, "Lucille, didn't Professor Garth
reject your application because of your pregnancy? Where is the child?"
Last time, when Lucille threw up for the first time, Ethan was a witness.
"No, I've only been pregnant for more than a month, so it's not very obvious..." Lucille rubbed her belly
slightly and explained in embarrassment.
"Oh... I thought all pregnant women have big bellies."
Ethan was like a silly big brother and he did not know much about women's pregnancy and childbirth.
"Ethan, you're here."
While the two were talking, a man in a black sweater and casual trousers walked over and stood in
front of them. NôvelDrama.Org owns this.
He looked like he was roughly thirty years of age, slightly older than them. His short hair style was quite
trendy, making him look younger.
"Zoel." Ethan quickly pulled Lucille over and introduced him to her. "Lucille, this is my cousin, Zoel
Parker. Zoel, this is my junior from school, Lucille Jules."
"Hello, Mr. Parker." Lucille bowed respectfully
and reached out to shake hands with Zoel.
"Hello." Zoel shook her hand, turned around and walked to the gallery. He said, "Come on, let me show
you around."
"Alright."
Lucille quickly followed.
"Lucille, right? Ethan told me about your situation. Your main task is to help me look after the gallery
and familiarize yourself with the condition of each painting and of each artist. I will give all this
information to you," Zoel said as he walked.
"Okay." Lucille nodded.
"By the way, do you have any recent works?" Zoel asked her.
"Recent works? The most recent one was painted in the first half of the year. In the second half of the
year, I had some family issues, therefore I did not paint much..." Lucille took out her mobile phone and
showed Zoel her artwork.
"Family issues? I know. Aren't you married? You met with a bad man but you do not want to get rid of
the child."
These were all Ethan's words.
Zoel said them while looking at her paintings.
Ethan became anxious when he heard what Zoel said. "Zoel, didn't I tell you to keep it a secret? Why
did you say them out loud?"
"It does not matter. If I work here in the future, this matter would definitely be known, eventually." Lucille
lowered her head. Although she was reluctant, she had to face reality.
"Well..." Zoel looked at a few of Lucille's paintings and enlarged some of them to look at them carefully.
Then he said, "It seemed that you did not mess around in college. These are good. You can sell them,
but since you are not famous, the price won't be too high. The largest piece can be priced at 1,500
dollars, but the buyer will definitely want to lower the price."
"Really?" Lucille never thought that someone would buy her paintings.
"Yes," Zoel said as he took a few more steps forward. He pointed to a corner and said, "There's an
open space over there. Whenever you're free, you can paint there. After that, you can hang them in the
gallery and sell them. As for the commission ratio... It's usually 20%. You can have a 5% discount."
"Thank you." Lucille was very excited.
"Zoel, you're so biased! I want to sell my paintings here too." Ethan was not satisfied.
"You?" Zoel looked at him and joked, "Your paintings are not even half as good as Lucille's."
"Bro, why are you so quick to be biased?"
"Okay, I still have some matters to attend to. You can come to work tomorrow." Zoel glanced at the
huge watch on his hand and went out on his own.
Lucille followed him out, and she went into the car with Ethan to head to the University of Arts. Since
she wanted to paint, she needed enough materials.
Her painting materials were left at home, but they were all thrown away by Alma. Therefore, she had to
go to the shops near the University of Arts to buy new ones.
"There is a wall in your heart, but I managed to find a window..."
As soon as she arrived at the door of the store, her phone rang.
It was Alma.
Lucille frowned and considered if she should pick up the call or not. Alma never called her. For sure it
would not be of any good news when she called.
"Why aren't you answering it?" Ethan looked at Lucille, who stared at her phone in a daze, and kindly
reminded her.
"I'll go over there and pick up the call." Lucille was helpless. She pressed the answer button when she
was outside of the store.
"Lucille!" When the phone was connected, Alma's mood, which had been suppressed for a long period,
suddenly broke out. "Are you crazy? Why didn't you tell us about the divorce between you and
Franklin?"
She knew that she could not keep the secret any longer, but she did not expect it to be exposed so
soon.
"Your dad knows about it. He is sick and has been vomiting for several days. He even told us not to tell
you about it." Alma was angry over the phone. "Why does our family have such a useless daughter like
you?"
"Is Dad sick?"
"That's right. The reason he was sick was because of you, you unfilial daughter!"
"Then... Where is he now?"
"He's at home! Hurry up and come back to clarify things!"
When Lucille heard that Marvin was ill, she did not care about anything else. She quickly said, "Okay,
I'll come back now."
Lucille arrived at the door, and Natasha opened it.
As soon as Natasha saw Lucille, she immediately said with a smile, "Lucille, you and Franklin are
divorced? Oh no, I should address him as President Moore. If it weren't for my colleagues who told me,
I would not have known about it."
Natasha's words had clearly explained who had leaked this matter.
