Unfortunately, Esther didn't say much when James brought it up. She quietly agreed, even though she felt uncomfortable.

"Yeah, Aunt Agnes. I like fish and chips too..." Esther managed to say.

Agnes beamed and held Esther's hand warmly. "I knew you liked sweet and sour food. James told me you preferred sweets. I thought you'd watch your diet strictly since you're a celebrity. But honestly, you look great! It's fine to enjoy sweets now and then."

Esther's eyes teared up. Agnes had always treated her like a daughter, which made it hard for Esther to refuse anything, including this visit with James.

"Aunt Agnes, I'm not a kid. I'm twenty-five years old," Esther reminded her gently.

Agnes playfully rolled her eyes. "Nonsense! You're still very young. To me, you're just a kid. Now, go wash your hands and let's eat."

She returned to the kitchen. Seeing James eating calmly at the table, Agnes clicked her tongue. "James, grab a bottle of juice for Esther. It's in the fridge, second shelf. I got peach juice for her. Try to take care of her more instead of just eating by yourself."

Esther looked up quickly and shook her head. "No, Aunt Agnes, your cooking is delicious as always, but..."

"But what?" Agnes pressed, looking concerned.

Esther struggled to speak, not wanting to upset Agnes.

"It's okay, dear. Just tell me. I can handle it," Agnes reassured her. She thought for a moment. "Couples argue, it's normal. Just don't let it ruin your relationship."

Seeing Esther's sad expression deepen, Agnes quickly changed the subject. "Let's not dwell on sad topics. What about planning for your marriage? You both aren't getting any younger and have stable careers. Maybe it's time?"

Esther gave an awkward smile. "Aunt Agnes, I think—"

"Don't worry. James will be a good husband. And I promise to be a supportive mother-in- law. I won't interfere in your lives. Do you think I'd treat you poorly?"
