Chapter 656
Chapter 656 Michael's Arrangement
The next day, Chloe visited Christopher's home. The interior decor perfectly matched Chloe's stereotypical image of where a star should live.
Every item was top-of-the-line. Even the seemingly ordinary doll by the wall was worth millions of dollars.
She looked at Christopher, who stood nervously at the doorway, thinking that he certainly lived up to his status as a star and a wealthy second-generation heir. "Aren't you coming in?"
Chloe noticed him lingering at the door, looking uncharacteristically uneasy.
She wondered if this was really his house.
Due to filming, Christopher had been home very little recently, and on top of that, the place always gave him the creeps, so he had been staying at a hotel for the past few days. Today, bringing Chloe here reignited that unsettling feeling.
Chloe placed her equipment in the corner of the room. Once she had everything set up, she called Christopher over to look at the computer screen.
"These devices will provide real-time monitoring of your house, and even if someone finds them, they'll have a hard time removing them. If they do, it'll trigger the house's alarm system." She glanced at Christopher. "So if there's anyone in this house, they'll definitely be caught on camera."
She had placed micro-cameras in every blind spot, ensuring the entire house was covered.
"Try not to worry too much. Just relax."
Chloe gave him a reassuring pat on the shoulder, trying to keep him from scaring himself.
After seeing the surveillance setup, Christopher finally felt a bit more at ease. "Chloe, thank you so much. If you hadn't helped, I wouldn't have known who to turn to."
With his unique status, if he hired someone from outside, he could risk exposing his privacy.
Chloe was the safest, most reliable choice for him.
"Don't thank me yet. I charge for my services."
Chloe opened her hand with a smile, ready to tally up the bill.
The surveillance equipment she used was top-of-the-line and not easily available on the market, which naturally made it expensive.
Plus, she'd be monitoring the footage herself, which would require time and effort.
Christopher's mouth twitched. "Mr. Dale wasn't wrong. Ms. Nelson, you really do care more about money than anything else." "James told you that?"
Christopher froze. "Well, I'll transfer the money to you right now!"
Watching him hurry off, Chloe smirked, thinking, "One of these days, I'm going to tape James' mouth shut."
Only after the payment came through did Chloe prepare to leave.
As she stood up, her eyes fell on a leather bean bag chair behind the curtains. She stared at it for a moment. "Is something wrong?"
Chloe snapped out of her thoughts
and shook her head. "I was just thinking about buying one of those sofas. It looks really comfortable."
As they walked out of the room together, Christopher said, "If you like it, I can get you one. They're not that expensive." "How much?"
"Around two hundred thousand dollars."
"Two hundred thousand dollars?
And that's not expensive?" Chloe thought.
She forced a smile, "I'll think about it."
"A sofa that expensive, it's insane!" she muttered under her breath.
On her way back, Chloe received a
message from Jessica: [Chloe,
Quinn, and I checked out that project. It's managed by Paramount Airlines.]
Chloe paused as she read the message.
No wonder she thought the project seemed oddly coincidental, happening in Mamaica and only three blocks away from her.
It turned out to be Michael's doing.
Before she could respond, Jessica sent another message: [Chloe, should we still take it?]
Jessica had learned a lot about
Chloe's past recently and knew
Chloe didn't like taking on projects
related to Paramount AirlineContent provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
However, she enjoyed taking on projects that directly competed with Paramount Airlines.
Chloe held her phone, thinking it over before replying: [Yes, let's take it.] After all, she thought, there was no point in turning down easy money.
