Chapter 1670
Wyatt rolled his eyes at him and retorted without showing mercy, "If you want to go, go by yourself!" He was so busy that he didn't have the time for that!
It was a loss, but also a gain!
Although there were some ups and downs in his career, the relationship gains were not too bad. Wyatt was open-minded to think that everything was fair.
His gaze fell upon the report in his hand, and he did not understand what was going on. In the end, he closed the document and stopped racking his brain. "It's quite necessary to be careful. Caution is the parent of safety! I'm rather curious as to what tricks the other party has up his sleeves."
Wyatt didn't want to waste time on such an inexplicable person. He raised his hand and shook the paper in his hand, saying, "Is there any antidote?"
Shrugging his shoulders, Carson replied, "Generally speaking, we'll have to rely on gastric lavage. If we were to rely solely on drugs..."
After giving it some thought, he went on to say.
"I will give you some antidote pills in a bit, but the effect may be subtle! I can't tell how effective it will be! You don't want to risk yourself, do you? This is not a matter of risk, but danger!"
What if he was driving when he was caught with the attack? His death might not even make sense!
"Who knows if it's nothing more than a prank? Rather than looking for a needle in a haystack, it's better to wait for an opportunity to show itself! Don't worry, I have a plan! I have a business gathering tonight, so I'll take my leave."
They parted ways after taking the medicine and a brief chat.
In the next few days, Wyatt paid careful attention to his surroundings, but everything was still and calm. Slowly, he relaxed. Yet, he was used to bringing Carson's antidote with him just in case.
Before he got off work, he made a phone call to Waverly, then he went straight to Starlite.
Back home, Waverly had a simple dinner before she left the house with headphones and walked the dog while taking the chance to listen to the audio of a novel and stroll around in the yard. As if to think of something, she exited the novel on the mobile phone and opened a folder storing audio files.
"That much?"
During the weekend, she couldn't hold back and sent two messages to Franklin. It seemed to be a question, but in fact, the so-called news link was created by herself to start the invasion of a virus. As long as Franklin clicked on it, it would activate her program. Naturally, her question was directed at forcing him to tap on the so-called news article she had doubts about. To facilitate communication, the two added each other on WhatsApp, but it also gave her the opportunity to listen in, although her means were evil.
Looking at the recordings in the folder, Waverly felt a slight headache. She didn't want to probe into his privacy, but she desperately wanted to know if he was Franklin or not. Who had once fallen in love with and hurt her? Was it the man in front of her?
Out of the corner of her eye, she timidly scanned her surroundings. After being in a dilemma for a long period, Waverly made up her mind to tap on the call record of the past three days and turn on the continuous playing mode. After stuffing the earphone back into her ears, she continued to walk the dog.
"Well, we'll have a meeting in the afternoon. You transfer the three million to Jambi's account..."
"Boss, when will we distribute the next batch of goods?"
"Is this how you deal with stuff? Do you know how on the line our goods are and how many mistakes are made? Do you know how much our losses are?"
Along the way, her ears hurt, but Waverly couldn't help but grin. "He seems to be quite busy with work..."
Wasn't the Wright High Group declared bankruptcy a long time ago? What goods could there be? It should have nothing to do with him if it was acquired, shouldn't it?
After listening to all the recordings, Waverly was quite puzzled. Although she could vaguely sense that something wasn't right, she didn't understand a word, so she didn't take anything that involved business to heart either.
The three-day call record consisted of short recordings, so it was soon over.
Waverly didn't manage to hear about anything she wanted to. Rubbing her ears, she sighed.
"Why is there no response to such big news?"
Something was amiss!
Scrolling through, she tapped on the recordings from two days before. If no information was heard through the phone calls, she would stop. It was all noisy and boring!
In the beginning, she was afraid to hear some disgusting words. It turned out that she had overthought. Franklin sounded quite pure and unambitious. Apart from official business, he seemed to have nothing else to deal with.
As she muttered in her heart, Waverly lowered her head to glance at the dog
beside her feet and added, "Well, better than your master."
Wyatt had some private life, but Franklin was like a robot. Why hadn't she noticed that he was such a serious and proper man? Unfortunately, her program could only eavesdrop on conversations on his mobile phone, so of course, she could check his calls and message logs. Right then, however, she could listen in with her ears but was rendered unable to read the texts.
As if it was responding to her, the dog barked twice, which was a rare sight.
As a reward, Waverly took out dog food from her pocket and fed it to the dog. "Okay, okay, let's go. Let's continue!"
Upon hearing that, she continued turning in circles. Just as her ears began to buzz and her mind flashed with the thought of giving up, a phone call suddenly pricked her nerve like a needle.
"Is there any news? I want you back not for you to get into a relationship!"
It was the man's voice that was filled with haughtiness. The man had not appeared many times, but every few words he said were in a harsh tone, as if he was... reprimanding his subordinate or junior. Yet, the voice sounded young. She had never heard of any friends or elders whom Franklin was intimidated of. Who could it be to treat him that way?
With a slight frown, Waverly heard Franklin's voice from the recording.
"I'm thinking of a solution. I have tried my best. The point is that I can't get close to
her in public or in secret! If I can't win her trust, nor can I ask her anything. I still have no idea what you want me to find from her."
"I won't listen to your excuses! If I know what it is, why would I need you to come back? I got you to
return because I want you to usen etnoveldrama
your relationship to discover clue. In short, it's important!
According to the intonet
received, it should be a mini portable phone, a chip, or a memory card! It's possible to be hidden anywhere. The point is I'm sure the item must be in her hands! It's Stefan's amulet, so it's impossible for it to leave his side. He informed Hazel that it has arrived safely, but we couldn't find it in the end as a result of the sudden attack! Franklin, don't forget what the purpose of your return is! If you can't get the item back, you know what will happen!"
With a bang, it sounded as if the conversation ended on an unhappy note.
Waverly seemed to hear a cursing low roar.
Was he back for the chip as well?
What do you think?
