The maid had been taking out the trash when she spotted Amelia getting out of a

car.

Amelia had been in the hospital for the past two days, and Zedrick had insisted on accompanying her. She was irritated but couldn't deny that she needed someone to take care of her.

Zedrick trailed behind her. "I got you a companion. You've been feeling sick and down lately, so you can take your frustration out on her."

"I don't need a companion," Amelia said coldly. "I don't want to stay here. Let me go home."

Zedrick shook his head. "You've got no one else to take care of you. Stay until you're better."

Amelia let out a wry smile. "Given how I am now, do you really think I'll ever get better?"

Her condition was deteriorating. Perhaps she wouldn't last much longer after Zedrick died. But she couldn't shake her worries for Adam. She had to leave something for him, even if it made her seem selfish and greedy.

Since Zedrick wanted to make amends, she would take whatever she could get. "Fine. I'll stay here, but you have to give me this villa," Amelia said.

Zedrick nodded without hesitation. "Okay."

"Really?" Amelia hadn't expected him to agree so easily. She studied him for a moment before turning and entering the villa.

After walking further inside, Amelia spotted Sarah lounging on the couch in the living room.

With a swift kick, Sarah knocked over the foot bath, sending a maid sprawling to the ground.

"Are you trying to scald me, you idiot?" she shrieked. "Get out! You're useless! Just wait until I see your boss. I'll have you fired!"

Amelia recognized Sarah instantly. She hated her as much as she hated Simon and Helena. She couldn't believe Zedrick had chosen Sarah as her companion.

"You're really acting like the boss, huh?" Amelia said, her voice dripping with

sarcasm.

Sarah whipped her head around at the sound of Amelia's voice. The moment she saw Amelia, she jumped up. "Amelia? What are you doing here?"

She turned to the maids. "You two are useless!" she snapped, her face twisting with contempt. "You can't even keep her out. Get her out of here! She's filthy! I don't want to catch any disease from her."

Unfazed by Sarah's outburst, Amelia turned to Zedrick and asked, "Is this villa really mine?"noveldrama

Zedrick leaned against the doorframe and replied, "I have plenty of properties. Why would I lie to you?"

"Like you've never lied to me before," Amelia shot back.

Zedrick was caught off guard. He knew he was in the wrong and stayed quiet.

Amelia walked straight toward Sarah. Zedrick had said it himself-he had gotten Amelia a companion to cheer her up.

Without warning, Amelia slapped Sarah across the face, sending her stumbling onto the couch. Sarah touched her cheek, staring at Amelia in shock before letting out a piercing scream. The noise startled Zedrick, leaving him stunned.

Zedrick raised an eyebrow. "You mean someone rich and powerful has their eye on you?"

"Of course!" Sarah said, her voice dripping with pride. "He let me stay in this villa. You two broke into my place and hit me. You're done for!"

Sarah turned to a maid and ordered, "Call your boss right now! Tell him I'm being attacked."

The maid, who had been knocked down earlier, was back on her feet. She said flatly, "Ms. Fitzgerald, my boss is standing by the door."

Sarah's eyes widened, and her gaze slowly shifted toward the door.
