Chapter 863 The Triplets' First Visit to the Manor
The stretch Lincoln stopped outside the Vanderbilt Villa. Evelyn got out of the car and
stood outside, anxiously reminding Hubert, Boris, Noomi, and Ethan to listen to
Theodore.
Hubert, Boris, and Noomi were excited from the moment they got in the car and waved enthusiastically at Evelyn.
Evelyn felt uneasy but watched them leave. As she turned around, she bumped into Edward, who was standing at the door.
It was unclear how long he had been standing there, but his gloomy eyes were fixed on the departing stretch Lincoln, which made Evelyn feel a bit uneasy.
"Edward, are you going to work?" Evelyn spoke first.
Edward's expression softened instantly. He withdrew his gaze and concealed his inner gloom, saying, "Evelyn, my mom said you were coming today and specifically asked me to come out and greet you."
"I know the way to your house. You don't need to worry about me. I'll go in by myself. Edward, you should go to work." Evelyn waved her hand.
The place she had lived the longest in her life, besides her birth home, was the Vanderbilt Villa. She could find her way to the front door with her eyes closed.
Edward chatted with her for a few moments and watched her enter the Vanderbilt Villa. Once she was out of sight, the gentleness in his eyes disappeared, replaced by ferocity and gloom.
Delilah's condition was indeed not good, probably due to the investigation of the Vanderbilt Group. She looked visibly more haggard.
After Evelyn arrived, she busied herself in the kitchen, preparing to make pizza, while Delilah sat nearby like a pampered princess, watching her work.
"All these years, I feel most at ease when you're by my side. I originally thought we could become relatives, but it seems our Edward wasn't that lucky."
Evelyn didn't take these words seriously. After Phoebe and Edward started dating, Delilah had called her over give her a talking-to, essentially saying that while Phoebe and Edward could date, Phoebe shouldn't expect to marry into the Vanderbilt family.
A prestigious family like the Vanderbilts would never marry a maid's daughter like Phoebe.
If Delilah hadn't said such things, Evelyn wouldn't have hurried to find Theodore to take responsibility for Phoebe when she unexpectedly got pregnant after being with him.
"Mrs. Vanderbilt, I heard he's been getting close to the Reynolds family's daughter recently. Are they getting married at the end of the year?" Evelyn changed the subject.
Delilah understood her attitude and stopped probing. "Who knows what he's thinking? The Reynolds family's daughter is a fake, and she's done so many embarrassing things over the years. Compared to Phoebe, she's far worse."
Evelyn smiled, "As long as Edward likes her."
"If he truly likes her, that would be fine. I'm just afraid he can't let go of Phoebe, and they'll end up like Brian and his wife resentful and unhappy. It's painful to watch." Delilah sighed, clutching her chest.
Back then, she had been so arrogant, but now she was exhausted.
If she had known Edward would end up with Madison, she wouldn't have stopped him
from being with Phoebe. Look at how well Phoebe was doing now.
Phoebe started her own company and was thriving in the entertainment industry.
Evelyn gently comforted Delilah, and they moved on to other topics.
In the black SUV, Edward held the steering wheel with one hand and took out his phone with the other, dialing Madison's number. Madison, who was probably still asleep, answered in a groggy voice.
"Edward, why are you calling me so early? Do you miss me?"
It was rare for Edward to show any warmth towards her recently, which made her anxious.

These past few years, she had been pampered by young men at Queen Entertainment, who were afraid of displeasing her. Yet, she stubbornly liked Edward.
Edward's voice was gentle, "Yes, I thought seriously about your proposal last night. We're not getting any younger, and there's no need to delay any longer. How about I come over today and discuss our wedding plans with your parents?"
Madison, who had been feeling down, suddenly sat up in bed, her voice filled with excitement, "Really? Have you really made up your mind?"
Marrying Edward and becoming Mrs. Vanderbilt was her ultimate dream.
"Yes, I'll come over in a bit. Don't go back to sleep. Get up and get ready, darling." Edward's voice was tender, and the word "darling" made Madison so happy she wriggled on the bed.
After hanging up, she still felt a bit unreal. She pinched her arm hard, and the pain confirmed that it was all real.
Edward was willing to marry her. How wonderful!
Madison quickly got out of bed and spent half an hour getting herself ready. She happily went downstairs, eager to share the good news with everyone, only to find Theodore bringing four children into the house.
One of the children looked a bit older than the other three, who were clearly triplets. Her mind buzzed.
Were those Phoebe's children? She had heard that Theodore had moved into Phoebe's house and was now helping to take care of the children.noveldrama
Taylor greeted them at the door, showering them with affection, kissing each one. She looked as if Hubert, Boris, and Noomi were her own grandchildren.

Madison stood frozen on the stairs, feeling extremely displeased.
Why would Theodore bring the triplets into the house today? Was he trying to embarrass her on the day she announced her good news?
Thinking about how Edward had frequently flown to Caneda to see Phoebe and had developed feelings for the triplets, she felt that discussing marriage today would surely
fail.
But the more she knew it would fail, the less she was willing to give up now.
Fine, let her see how Edward would react when he saw Theodore bringing the triplets home.
"What are you doing standing here?" Grace asked as she came downstairs, her tone unfriendly, not hiding their usual discord.
Madison turned around and, seeing Grace, her expression turned cold, "Didn't you and Mom go to Lakeview Estates yesterday to cause trouble?"
"Why would we cause trouble?" Grace asked, puzzled.
Madison pointed to the adorable triplets downstairs, "So you want those three
bastards to be the heirs of the Reynolds family? You are really generous."
Grace frowned, "Madison, don't call them bastards. It's very unpleasant."
"Aren't they bastards with unknown fathers?" Madison said disdainfully, looking at the
three almost identical children downstairs with the greatest malice.
In her eyes, they weren't three adorable children but three little demons who would eventually divide the Reynolds family fortune. She couldn't understand what Theodore was thinking. Did he really want to acknowledge these three bastards?
Grace, unable to bear it any longer, gritted her teeth and warned, "Madison, if there's a bastard in this family, it's you."
Madison had never seen Grace so sharp before. She almost reflexively raised her hand to slap her, "How dare you call me a bastard?"
What do you think?
