Cameron leaned against the car window. "I'm fine. My phone was on silent. I just

I saw all your messages."

"You're really okay?" Amelia let out a breath. Just hearing Cameron's voice calmed her a little, but she was still on edge.

She'd been so distracted during the singing competition that she missed several notes. Still, her performance had been strong enough to get her through to the next round.

"Cameron, Bradley didn't... do anything to you, right?" she asked cautiously.

Cameron couldn't help but laugh. "The guy's a total lightweight. What could he possibly do?"

Amelia stiffened. "Wait. Bradley was drunk?"

"Yeah. Out cold," Cameron said.

"No way," Amelia blurted, clearly skeptical.

"Why not?" Cameron asked, her brow lifting.

Amelia said, "He's the one who invited you to the bar. No way he'd show up with zero tolerance."

Cameron didn't answer. She was thinking the same thing.

'It really doesn't add up. But he was definitely drunk.'

She turned back to the window and murmured, "You should get some sleep. I'll be back soon."

"I'm staying up," Amelia replied. "I'll wait for you."

By the time Cameron got back to Stellanford University, the dorm gates were

already locked. But a second-floor window was hardly an obstacle.

She climbed in easily, startling the girls inside.

The lights were out, but none of them had gone to bed. They were all waiting up for her.

"Who's there?!" Lila shrieked.

"It's me," Cameron whispered, pressing a finger to her lips.

"Cam?!” Sienna whispered back. "You climbed in through the window?"

"Front door was locked," Cameron said simply.

Amelia stared at her and then sighed. "You really are something."

Once they confirmed she was back safe and sound, the three girls all visibly relaxed.

"Cam," Lila whined as she clung to her arm, "you can't go out drinking alone anymore. You scared me to death.

Cameron smiled. "Alright, next time I'll bring you with me."

"You're seriously planning a next time?" Amelja frowned.

Cameron gave a helpless little laugh.noveldrama

Meanwhile, Eric had just finished class. He'd missed Eddie's earlier call, but now he was returning it

"Eddie, what's up?"

Eddie struggled to contain his excitement. "Eric, I've got something wild to tell you."

"What is it?"

"Guess."

"Guess what? Give me a hint," Eric said, already getting annoyed.

"It's about Brad."

Eric's stomach tightened. "Brad? What happened to him?"

Eddie couldn't hold it anymore. "He's in love. He's gonna confess!"

Eric's brow instantly furrowed. "To whom?"

“Come on, take a guess," Eddie teased.

"Cut the crap and say it," Eric snapped.

www.

"Cameron!" Eddie announced triumphantly. "Can Osborne!"

"Shut up," Eric said coldly, his voice dark.

Eddie paused, taken aback. "Eric?"

'Is he... angry? But why the hell?'

you believe it? Brad's got guts, man! He's officially the first in our crew to pull this

off. Even beat out us

Eric's tone dropped lower. "How far have things gone between them?"

"He's planning to confess soon," Eddie said.

Eric let out a slow, steady breath.

'Good. There's still time.'

He needed to get on a flight. Now. He couldn't let this happen.
