She's the Campus Prince

"Eric, don't tell me you're actually against Cameron and Brad being together?" Eddie asked cautiously.

He might've been all jokes most of the time, but when it mattered, Eddie knew how to be serious.

Eric answered flatly, "Do you think I should be okay with it?"noveldrama

Eddie frowned. "Seriously? You're being that rigid? Everyone deserves a shot at happiness."

"That's not happiness he's chasing," Eric said, his voice low. "That's a freefall into disaster."

Eddie went quiet.

After a beat, he said, "Eric, you might want to rethink that. Brad's not as easygoing as I am."

Eric didn't even blink. "If it means saving his future, then let him hate me."

"Wow," Eddie muttered.

He gritted his teeth. "I really regret telling you."

Eric didn't reply. He just ended the call.

"What the hell?" Eddie stared at his screen, dumbfounded.

'Great. Just great. Now I've handed Brad a problem on a silver platter.'

Brad hadn't even confessed yet.

Eddie smacked his own forehead and hurried to text Bradley.

But Bradley was already asleep.

That didn't stop Eddie. He sent message after message, hoping one would get through.

There was no response.

Bradley saw all the messages the next morning.

Eddie: [Brad, I'm so sorry. I totally screwed up. I told Eric about you and Cameron. He got really upset. I don't know what he's planning, but I'm pretty sure he's going to try and stop you from being with her. I'm sorry.]

Eddie: [I'm so, so, so sorry...]

Eddie: [Brad, I swear I'm on your side. Ignore Eric. That workaholic knows nothing about love.]

Eddie: [Please text me back.]

Eddie: [Okay, maybe you're asleep now. Fair enough. Go ahead and rest. I'll be waiting for your call in the morning. You can yell at me then.]

Bradley read through every message, his expression completely unchanged.

Eric was mad? He wanted to stop them?

'Please.'

There was no one in this world who could stop him from being with Cameron, not even Cameron herself.

Bradley tapped out a reply. Bradley: [Don't worry about it. He was gonna find out sooner or later.)

Then, without hesitating, he messaged Cameron.

Cameron was finishing up breakfast in the school cafeteria when she got the text. Bradley: [How did I end up in your apartment? Where did you go?)

She smiled faintly and typed back. Cameron: [You were blackout drunk last night.

I didn't know where else to take you, so I brought you to Noble Vista, Then I went back to my dorm.]

Bradley: [Blackout drunk? Is my tolerance really that bad?]

Cameron: [Shouldn't you be the one answering that?]

Bradley: [That was actually my first time drinking at a bar.]

Cameron stared at the screen. 'Seriously?'

Bradley: [Sorry about that.]

Cameron: [It's fine. I've got class. Talk later.]

Across the table, Amelia leaned forward, eyes sharp. "Who're you texting?"

Cameron looked up. "No one."

Amelia didn't blink. "Bradley, right?"

Cameron said nothing.

"You don't actually like him, do you?" Amelia pressed.

The moment Bradley asked, Cameron said yes. No questions, no second

thoughts. And the way she said "Brad," so casual and familiar...

"You're reading way too much into it," Cameron muttered.

Lila perked up. "You guys keep mentioning Brad. Who is he, exactly?"

Sienna nodded. "Yeah, I'm curious too."

With a knowing smile, Amelia pulled out her phone. "I've got a picture. Took it at our high school graduation. Come take a look."
