She kept grabbing at the skirt of her dress so she wouldn’t get ripped by the wheel. But still, when they got off in front of a cafe, the dress had a slit in it.

“Sorry.” Benjamin looked apologetic, “It was an oversight of mine.”

“It’s okay.” Hayden replied smiling, “I saw it coming when I got on.”

“I’ll buy you another one.”

“It’s a little expensive.”

“Never mind, I’ll buy you one.”

They walked into the store and sat down in a quiet corner.

“Two cold Caramel Macchiato, please.”

A girl immediately responded from the counter. “Do you take me for a fool, who drinks cold Macchiato in this cold?”.

“Come out of your room and see the world sometime. There are people who drink cold drinks all year round.” Benjamin rebutted her, “I’ll tell your boss about your attitude.”

“Go ahead! I’ll spit in your Macchiato, how’s that sound?”.

“Hey, your mother will kick your ass if she hears you talk like that.”

Out of curiosity, Hayden looked over to the counter to see the girl Benjamin was talking to. She’s very cute, wearing a green sweater and a red beret, her eyes sparkling.

He looked back at Hayden and was somewhat annoyed when he saw that Benjamin was sitting with Hayden. He turned away and stopped talking.

“Don’t mind him, Hayden. He’s just got a bad temper, but about the accident, what’s on your mind?”

Hayden smiled at him.

“I sensed something was wrong when Mark came to see me. And I think I figured it out after Franklin told me about his resignation three years ago.”

“What was that about?”

“Mark told me that Joseph never went to Beckham Manor in Noah’s early years and only took Noah after the accident. So how did Theresa make sure the man was Joseph? She couldn’t have seen him.”noveldrama

Joseph wasn’t in charge of the ST Group at the time, he was barely on TV. However, Theresa said she saw him on TV all the time and met him at Beckham Mansion several times. That’s why she’s sure it was Joseph.
