The World of Beasts: She's Got Their Hearts

Chapter 46

Karl received a text from Stanley Roman, with the username MightyMoo.

"Young Lord, the therians from Shadowhawk Alliance suddenly appeared in our territory. I have no idea why they're here, but they've already arrived at the starship station."

Another message came in. "Also, Lieutenant Hansen met with Ms. Chamber and her group earlier. Not sure what they discussed in the VIP lounge."

Yet another one came in. "After Ms. Chamber left, Lieutenant Hansen called in a male. No clue what they talked about, but I suspect it might be related to the Shadowhawk Alliance."

Karl frowned as he read the messages.

He trusted Analise completely. After all, she was his savior. There was no reason for her to rescue him only to turn against him.

That left only one possibility. Sawyer must have told the Shadowhawk Alliance something.

His gaze shifted to Analise. Maybe it was because of her.

The therians of Shadowhawk Alliance were notorious for their madness. Rumor had it their alliance housed an exceptionally brilliant mind who was obsessed with bizarre experiments, much like the scientists of old.

As a pure-human female with mind essence, Analise would be the perfect subject for such a lunatic.

Karl shot to his feet. "Oh no!"

"Admiral Hopkins, since you and Ms. Chamber haven't changed out of these clothes, you guys need to leave immediately. The Shadowhawk Alliance is here, and I think they're after Ms. Chamber."

Scott's expression turned serious. "They've arrived?"

Karl nodded. "One of my men just sent word. I'll hold them off. Without a solid reason, they won't dare make a move against Ironhorn Alliance just yet."

"And what about you?" Analise asked.

She felt the situation growing more complicated. She suspected this had all been a setup from the start.

Analise had no one to blame but herself. Her livestream was far too high-profile, and not everyone had good intentions. As a pure-human female with mind essence, she was bound to attract attention,

"But that won't work either. If they were really after me, then even if we run, they'll still chase us to the Stormclaw Alliance."

Analise shook her head, thinking Karl's plan wasn't practical.noveldrama

Scott had brought a team to help Karl deal with Sawyer. By now, they should have already infiltrated the city center, lying in wait for Scott's signal.

Karl lowered his head and tried to figure out a solution. "Then what do we do?"

Scott remained calm as he analyzed the situation. "We still don't know why they're here, and there's no proof that Sawyer is working with them."

"The people of Shadowhawk Alliance are arrogant, whether male or female-they all carry that same pride Sawyer holds no real power right now, so it's unlikely they'd cooperate with him.

"The only possibility is that he leaked some information they wanted, which is

what brought them here," Scott continued.

Analise's eyes lit up as if she had figured out Sawyer's plan. "It's a diversion, right?"

"Since Sawyer saw Scott and Finlay, he'd suspect that they've made some sort of deal with Lord Hansen. Naturally, he'd try to lure them away."

"When I pretended to faint in the VIP lounge at the starship station earlier, it must have convinced Sawyer that 1 was extremely important to Scott and Finlay. It's possible that, just as you said, their real target is me," Analise continued.

"Sawyer wants to use this opportunity to pressure us into leaving the Ironhorn Alliance. That way, he'd stand a better chance against you and Lord Hansen."

Analise laid out her theory.

"If that's the case, why don't we make my whereabouts public and let every therian in the Interstellar Alliance know that I'm here in the Ironhorn Alliance's territory?"
