Chapter 1081
The next day was a Saturday, but that didn't mean Rebecca White was planning on sleeping in. At precisely seven o'clock, her alarm clock buzzed, pulling her from her dreams.
Rebecca blinked her eyes open, stretched, and washed up before heading downstairs. As she reached the foot of the staircase, she overheard a conversation between Francis and Jane, the caregiver.
"How did she sleep last night?" Francis asked.
To ensure Rebecca's comfort, Jane slept in a small partitioned-off area nearby. The setup was such that Jane could easily hear if Rebecca needed anything during the night.
"She slept well," Jane replied. "Didn't wake up once."
"Good," Francis nodded, a hint of relief in his voice.
He turned to the housekeeper and asked, "Is breakfast ready? Did you make it the way she likes?"
"It's all set," the housekeeper replied with a smile. "I heard from Jane that besides her morning coffee, Ms. White prefers a more traditional breakfast." "Great," Francis said, looking pleased.
Just then, Rebecca appeared at the top of the stairs. Francis looked up and smiled warmly. "Morning, Rebecca."
He walked over to her, studying her face. "You look more rested today."
He gestured toward the dining room. "Come on, breakfast is ready."
Pulling out a chair for her at the table, he made sure she was settled before the housekeeper brought the breakfast over.
"Go ahead and eat," Francis said, handing her the silverware. "No rush, we've got plenty of time."
"Thanks," Rebecca said softly, focusing on her meal.
After breakfast, they headed out together. Francis had arranged for Rebecca to meet with a psychologist he knew. It was the weekend, so the clinic was closed to other patients, but Dr. Wilson had agreed to see them, doing a favor for Francis.
Francis drove them to the clinic, where Dr. Wilson was waiting.
"Mr. Johnson," Dr. Wilson greeted with a nod.
Dr. Wilson was a kind-looking man, his demeanor calm and reassuring.
"Dr. Wilson," Francis said, introducing them, "this is Rebecca White. Rebecca, this is Dr. Wilson."
"Hello, Dr. Wilson," Rebecca said, offering a tentative smile.
"Nice to meet you, Rebecca," Dr. Wilson replied warmly. "I've heard a bit about your situation from Mr. Johnson. No need to be nervous. Today, we're just going to chat about how you're doing."
"Alright," Rebecca replied, her initial tension easing a bit.
"But, Dr. Wilson," she added hesitantly, "I'm not sure how much I can tell you. I don't really know a lot about my... situation."
"No worries," Dr. Wilson reassured her. "Just tell me whatever comes to mind. Sometimes the details you think are unimportant can be very insightful for me."
Rebecca nodded, feeling slightly more at ease. "Okay, I'll try."
"Great. Let's just have a friendly conversation."
And so they talked, for a full two hours. The first hour, Francis stayed with them, offering support. For the second hour, he stepped outside, giving Rebecca and Dr. Wilson some privacy.
After the session, Francis came back in. "How'd it go?" he asked.noveldrama

He paused, fingers hovering over his keyboard, "Also, I'll prescribe some medication. Any allergies to medication that you're aware of?" "Not that I know of," Rebecca answered.
"Alright then." Dr. Wilson printed out a prescription. "Take these once a day, one pill each time. And remember, don't take more than prescribed." With that, they wrapped up the visit, a small but hopeful step towards better days.
