Not Your Doormat Anymore

Chapter 63

The next day, Lindsey arrived. She was tall, with her long hair neatly styled in an updo. Her makeup was flawless, and her professional outfit accentuated her

figure perfectly. The black stockings highlighted her long legs, and her sleek black heels clicked sharply with every step.

Jason was speaking to me when she entered. He paused for a moment when he noticed her. "I thought I assigned you a secretary? Why is Ms. Harper here?" he asked.

Lindsey Harper came from a rural background, but through sheer determination and skill, she worked her way up. Now, everyone addressed her respectfully as 'Ms. Harper', and even in the branch office, she commanded respect.

She offered a faint smile, her gaze sharp and her voice steady as she said, "Mr. Lawson, you must be getting older if you've forgotten that this is Mr. Ranford's first time managing the company. How could an intern possibly keep up?"

Jason didn't dare respond.

"From now on, I'll be his secretary. Mr. Lawson, there's no need for you to worry about this matter anymore."

Jason's fingers twitched slightly. "But Mr. Kevin specifically asked me to guide Mr. Jace. This sudden change might not be the best move."

"Is that so? Mr. Lawson, if you had been doing your job properly, would Mr. Kevin have needed to call me back?"

Lindsey smiled sweetly, but her gaze was sharp. "I won't repeat myself. It's working hours now. Unless you have something to report, you're free to leave. After all, you're the deputy general manager. It wouldn't be appropriate for me to report your mistakes to Mr. Kevin, would it?"

Her friendly smile remained, but with just a few words, she had Jason feeling cornered.

He glanced at me, clearly uneasy. "Mr. Ranford..."

"Dad thinks I'm not handling things well and that I've let you down. There's nothing I can do about it." I sighed.noveldrama

"As for the traditional craft artisan, I've made two visits and several calls, but he refuses to meet with me. Honestly, I'm not sure how to handle this situation."

Jason immediately looked uneasy. "Well... Mr. Ranford, you're new here and still getting familiar with the business. It'll get better over time="

"You're absolutely right, Mr. Lawson. After all, back in the day, you didn't even know how to make a PowerPoint presentation. It was Mr. Kevin who had someone personally teach you. And now, look at

you you've completely mastered it and even adopted Mr. Kevin's methods."

Lindsey locked eyes with Jason, and with just a few words, he began to sweat.

"I'll be on my way now, Mr. Ranford," Jason said to me, not daring to stay any longer. He quickly turned and hurried past Lindsey.

Lindsey flashed him a smile and nodded. "Goodbye, Mr. Lawson."

I could see it clearly-Jason was gritting his teeth as he walked away. The whole exchange had lasted less than a minute, yet he had been completely outclassed.

I looked at Lindsey, realizing she was no joke! As I sized her up, I could tell she was doing the same to me.

After a brief pause, she nodded and smiled. "From now on, I'll be your secretary, Mr. Ranford. If you need anything, just let me know," she said.

I nodded in response. "Alright."

Mira was technically still my secretary and it was evident that Lindsey immediately understood my intentions. Without hesitation, she took Mira under her wing and brought her to her side.

ตอน

I sat in the office, enjoying the peace and quiet. Outside, I could only watch as Mira rushed around, running errands at Lindsey's command. I couldn't help but fall into deep thought.
